from the vehicle, and she
was handcuffed then taken
to jail.
During the booking
process a small baggie
containing a white powdery
substance was found inside
her wallet. After her rights
were read, she admitted
that the wallet was hers
and that the substance was
cocaine. Joyner obtained
a warrant on her for the
drugs and cited her for
driving without a license.
Suspect travels wrong
way in emergency lane
during chase
A gray 2020 Kawasaki
EX650 fleeing deputies
from Laurens County
entered Monroe County on
1-75 N around 9:30 a.m. on
May 16. A BOLO was is
sued, and Cpl. Jaleel Brown
spotted the bike as he
waited on top of the Juliette
Road Bridge and immedi
ately entered the interstate.
The male rider looked over
his shoulder, noticed the
patrol vehicle and imme
diately changed into lane 3
when Brown activated his
emergency equipment. The
bike began to downshift
and sped up with no inten
tion to stop.
During the pursuit, the
suspect was traveling well
over 100 miles per hour,
traveling in the emer
gency lane, passing in the
same lane as vehicles, and
committing several other
violations. The Georgia
State Patrol joined the chase
at Johnstonville Road, and
they tried to box in the bike
several times.
The suspect then got off
at the Hwy. 36 exit and
traveled the emergency lane
into the intersection of the
highway and reentered the
interstate, passing a rolling
roadblock set up by several
assisting units. Continuing
north on 1-75, the driver
hit speeds at well over 100
mph and exited at Hwy.
16, crossed over the bridge,
and made a U-turn on the
southbound ramp and trav
eled in the emergency lane
against southbound traffic.
Brown then made a U-turn
and reentered the north
bound side of the interstate.
Traveling north with several
state patrol units, deputies
caught up with the sus
pect passing the 210- and
211-mile markers. Dispatch
then notified Henry County
whose deputies shut down
the southbound lane of traf
fic and stopped the rider at
gunpoint.
The suspect was licensed
with no contraband and no
active warrants and when
asked why he was running,
he replied he was just trying
to get home. A warrant
was issued for fleeing, he
was cited for several traffic
violations and taken to the
Monroe County Justice
Center.
Woman flees deputy
after 1-75 traffic stop
Sgt. Jeffery Seckinger
clocked a black 2018 Honda
Accord speeding over 99
mph on 1-75 S near Hwy.
18 on May 16 around 10:40
p.m. and the female Ma
con driver took off when
Seckinger went back to his
car to check her license
at the stop. The woman
drove at speeds of over 110
mph, constantly swerving
through traffic without
signaling.
At one point during the
pursuit, the driver braked
hard and performed a
360-degree spin and con
tinued south, exiting at Riv
erside Drive. She was last
seen headed east on Thom
Hill Drive. A warrant was
taken out on her for felony
fleeing. She was also cited
for 2 counts of speeding,

Man looking for tractor-
trailer that damaged
his vehicle goes to jail
A white 2020 Chevrolet
Silverado was seen by inves
tigators Daniel Ahlstrom
and Chris Landers travel
ing on 1-75 N just north
of Rumble Road making
multiple lane changes with
out signaling around 12:21
p.m. on May 18 and was
stopped near Hwy. 18. The
male driver from Macon
told Ahlstrom the reason
for his driving was due to
him striking a piece of tire
recap from a tractor-trailer
near Bass Road and he was
trying to find the truck that
caused the damage. He gave
the tag number to Ahlstrom
who notified other units by
radio to be on the lookout
for a white trailer with the
tag number. He then told
the driver to go to a gas sta
tion at exit 185 so he could
obtain his information for
a report.
The man pulled into the
Shell station and Ahlstrom
looked over the damage to
the front right of his truck
while Landers ran his name
and date of birth. Dispatch
soon radioed that the driver
had an active warrant in
Wilkinson County for
probation violation. Once
the warrant was confirmed
to be valid and a hold was
requested, the man was
handcuffed and arrested.
Permission was granted
by the store clerk to leave
his Silverado at the station
while he was taken to jail
for the warrant and given a
verbal warning for failing to
signal.
Wanted woman
arrested after speeding
on interstate
A female driver
wanted by Bibb Coun
ty for multiple offenses
was stopped for speeding
90 mph by officer Jerry
Rafferzeder around 7:16
a.m. on May 19 near Hwy.
18 on 1-75 S. Rafferzeder
learned of her warrants
after running her license
and handcuffed her. He
also cited her for speeding
and no registration. Her
vehicle was towed, and she
was turned over to the jail
staff for processing.
Two shoplifters
arrested atWalmart
Walmart security per
sonnel had a man and a
woman sitting in their
office when Cpl. Kimberly
Barnett arrived at the store
on May 20 in response to
a report of shoplifting. An
employee told Barnett that
the couple had selected
several items concealed in a
black book bag the 43-year-
old Lorsyth woman was
carrying. After they paid
for a few items they walked
out of the first set of doors
attempting to leave. The
employee said he then
stopped them, and they
turned over the book bag.
He removed a remote, 6
packs of flashlights, energy
drink, starter fluid, glue, a
3-way switch, several pieces
of clothing, several snack
cakes, and a dash cam. To
tal of the stolen items was
$328.09.
Barnett asked both sub
jects if they had anything
they would like to say and
they both apologized. The
corporal then handcuffed
the woman and found 3
packs of small batteries
on her person which were
added to the list of stolen
property. Officer Richard
Maddox handcuffed the
33-year-old Lorsyth man
and the pair was taken to
jail with signed warrants for
shoplifting.
