W ow, if you’ve
missed For
syth’s Con
certs on the
Square, you missed some
great music. The concert
series started with the Tams
in April, followed
by Departure (a
Journey tribute
band) on May 7th,
and The Grapevine
(great beach music)
on June 4th. The
May and June con
certs easily
had 1,500+
attendees
groovin’
(and dancing) to the music
while kids played on the
courthouse lawn. The next
concert (with fireworks) is
Saturday July 2nd. Gather a
group together; and bring
lawn chairs for Atlanta’s
Contagious Band (8:00pm
start), fireworks during in
termission (9:30pm). Finally,
get there early on August 6th
for The Swinging Medal
lions and their upbeat dance
music.
Major kudos to Frank
Wilder, Main Street Co
ordinator, for bringing
needed energy to downtown
Forsyth. Wilder is in charge
of scheduling the music on
the square, as well as Main
Street events such as the
weekly Farmers’ Market
(May through October),
community yard sale (Sep
tember 10), and downtown
Halloween events such as
the scare crow competition
and trick-or-treat. For more

net BTW - the Chamber of
Commerce is responsible for
the Forsythia Festival and
the Christmas Parade. Those
two organizations (Main
Street and the Chamber)
definitely make the commu
nity a better place to live.
I’ve said it before but it
bears repeating; if you want
a business to succeed, you
must support it. If not, it will
close. Monroe County and
Forsyth have great business
es that NEED our support.
Fet’s frequent them with our
business and money. For
a city its size, Forsyth has
excellent restaurants - Grits
Cafe, Sol Taco & Tequila,
Scoops (ice cream), The
French Market, Jonah’s
Pizza, El Tejada, El Dorado,
and Fox City Brewery - just
to name a few. Also, Marrow
41 (Bolingbroke) and Yahola
Creek (Indian Springs) have
great food and worth the
drives. Then, there
are specialty shops
and stores such
Branded Stan-
Trading Post (new
western boutique
on the square),
Old Mill Market
(nice gifts and
iUQW MtaR^irs
(computers - at
a new location), Circle of
Care (thrift store), and Ace
Hardware.
For wonderful entertain
ment you only need travel
to Forsyth. On weekends,
Fox City Brewery, The
Pickled Okra, and Sol Taco
& Tequila have live music
with bands such as Swain
and the OG’s. Monthly, the
Monroe County Fine Arts
Center brings in fantastic
shows such as - The Isaacs
(bluegrass, Southern gospel
music) on June 18th; The
Return (a Beatles’ tribute
band) will perform on July
23rd; and Pam Tillis (the
Grammy award winning
country star) will have a
concert on September 25th.
More entertainment can be
found at the Rose Theater
with plays throughout the
year. Finally, the various free
concerts and performances
put on by the Mary Per
sons Chorus and Band are
some of the county’s best
entertainment. Mr. Hernan
dez always has the kids of
the MP Chorus sounding
great. I encourage everyone
(whether you have students
in school or not) to support
the kids.
Apparently after winning
an election, some leaders get
a little “froggy” and quickly
jump on their subordinates.
Leadership is something
that is learned and devel
oped, usually over time and
after making numerous
mistakes. One thing that
good leaders practice is
“compliment in public and
criticize in private”, unless
that criticism applies to
all the subordinates. If an
individual requires disci
pline (i.e. an @-s-s chew
ing), you take them behind
closed doors, say your piece
as harshly as needed, insure
they understand your mes
sage, and then move on.
That leadership lesson needs
to be learned by our elected
leaders, especially by a cer
tain county commissioner.
Fast month, how much
was your Biden, Warnock,
and Ossoff gas tax? My
Democrat tax, just on gas,
was $329.1 used 156 gallons,
average price of $4.11/gal
lon, a full $2.11 more per
gallon than Trump’s last
month in office. So, 156 x
the $2.11 increase = $329.
(Thank you Biden.) Janu
ary 2021 gas was $2/gallon.
Now it’s well over $4.25 and
climbing every day. And
Georgia has the nation’s
lowest gas prices because
Gov. Kemp temporarily
suspended the GA gas tax
through July. Come August,
gas will be much higher.
To prove how little Demo
crats care about gas prices,
Jennifer Granholm, Biderfs
energy secretary, literally
laughed when asked what
Biden plans to do about
oil shortages. (She laughed
because Biden doesn’t care
about higher prices.) Sena
tor Stabenow (D-Michigan)
is equally unconcerned
about gas prices. Fast
weekend, while driving
her $75,000 Tesla (electric
vehicle), she said, “I drove
from Michigan and went by
every single gas station and
didn’t matter how high (gas)
was.”
I’ve told you before, you
might care but Dems simply
don’t care about $5/gallon
gas. In 2008, Obama even
said we need $5+ gas to
reduce consumption. Note:
hike Obama, Stacy Abrams
and Warnock actually want
higher gas prices.
Not sure what but some
thing (other than Biden’s
dementia) is going on. No
single person (or group of
people) could constantly
make the wrong decisions
about everything - unless it’s
intentional. Simultaneously,
everything is cratering - the
economy, stock market,
free speech, the military,
law and order, our personal
freedoms, foreign policy, in
flation, gas prices, you name
it and Biden’s decisions
are making things worse;
not just a little worse, were
talking historically bad. The
decisions made by Biden (or
by whoever controls him)
are the exact opposite of a
person who loves America
and who supports the Con
stitution.
Three quick examples
to prove my point - Day
1, Biden cancelled oil
pipelines, cancelled oil/
gas leases on federal lands,
and imposed draconian
new regulations on energy
companies - all designed to
cripple that industry; and
it has. Second, last month
Biden’s regime implemented
a Disinformation Gover
nance Board (DGB) with a
mission to squash “disinfor
mation” with a radical Feft-
ist appointed to determine
if your speech should be
silenced based on whether
or not you agree with Biden.
The DGB is something right
from the Soviet Union and a
violation of our free speech.
Yet NO Democrat opposed
it. Finally, for two years the
Dems have been demand
ing (and implementing)
defunding of the police. No
surprise that crime is out
of control. Only someone
trying to destroy America
would make such horrible
decisions. Thank Biden for
the destruction.
