INCIDENT REPORTS . June 29, 2022
The following incidents were reported by the Forsyth Police Department
and the Monroe County Sheriffs Office.
Man urinates in cigarette
receptacle outside Royal 7
Cpl. Jeremy Malone was dis
patched to the Royal Seven at 325
Cabaniss Road at about 8:42 p.m.
on June 11 regarding a man seen
urinating in the cigarette butt
receptacle outside the store then
leaving in a white BMW going
south on Lee Street.
Two witnesses at the store told
Malone they confronted the man,
but he didn’t care and continued
to urinate in front of them. When
they told him there was a bath
room inside, he said he couldn’t
wait.
The tag number they gave the
corporal did not come back to
the BMW. The witnesses said the
man was wearing a black t-shirt
that said “hummingbird” on it.
Passenger in car with
burned-out taillight cited for
weed
A man with a burned-out tail-
light was stopped by officer John
Bogdan on West Main Street
around 3:40 a.m. on June 11 and
the driver received warnings
while his passenger was issued a
summons for marijuana pos
session after nearly passing out
during the stop.
At the beginning of the stop, the
driver placed a lit cigarette into
the door window, so the smoke
was blowing directly on Bog
dan while he asked him for his
license. Bogdan went back to his
car to type out warnings for the
burned-out light and not having
his address up to date.
Cpl. Jeremy Malone arrived
and had the two occupants exit
the vehicle and asked for consent
to search, which he received.
He then found a half ounce of
marijuana vacuum sealed in a
plastic bag.
Both men were handcuffed, and
the passenger fell forward until
he was caught by the handcuffs
by Bogdan which prevented
him from hitting the pavement.
The man told the officers he was
mildly autistic, and he can get
overly excited in certain situa
tions.
Malone removed their hand
cuffs as Bogdan finished up with
the tickets and warnings and the
men were released.
Man charged with assault
after strangling a woman
Cpl. Jaleel Brown met with a
woman at the Forsyth Police De
partment who told him on June
2 around 9 a.m. she went to a
Clifton Drive home to see a male
friend and when she arrived,
he motioned her to park in the
garage. She said when she walked
into the house there were several
individuals that seemed to be liv
ing there and that her friend usu
ally rents his rooms out to people
who don’t have a place to stay.
She told Brown she then heard
someone crying in the laundry
room area and found two people
living there.
She described the living condi
tions as crowded; very poor
and they seemed to be living on
some type of small couch in the
laundry room area. She said that
she spoke with the woman who
lived there who told her that her
friend has been requesting sex
from her in lieu of rent money.
The woman told her the sex was
consensual however she really
did not want to do it. She said
they are homeless and needed to
do everything they could to make
sure they have a place to stay. She
said he has also tried to make her
have sex with other people.
The complainant told Brown
that after she spoke with the
woman, she tried to take the cou
ple away from the residence and
while they were getting in her car,
the man met them outside and
asked where they were going. She
told him they were going to pick
up the woman’s husband from
work and he became upset after
he saw the woman in the vehicle.
She said when she opened the
garage, there was a silver vehicle
blocking her and she asked him
to move it so she could leave. He
then became very aggravated and
began cursing at her.
She told him that he wasn’t go
ing to be talking to her like he did
his ex-wife, and he began to strike
her through the driver’s window
of her vehicle. She said he slapped
and punched her several times
which caused her to move into
the passenger’s lap.
He wrapped his hand around
her throat and began to choke her
while still hitting her. She said she
wasn’t able to breathe and eventu
ally kicked him in the face.
During the altercation, one of
the passengers ran into the house
and the other went inside and
brought her back to the car.
The man finally moved the
vehicle from behind her car and
they drove away.
The complainant had several
bruise marks on her face and on
the back of her left arm. Brown
then met with deputies Cody
Maples, Weaver, and Hannah
Hile at the man’s home and ar
rested him for aggravated assault
strangulation.
He was turned over to jail staff
without incident.
UPS delivery person
attacked by dog
A German Shepherd attacked
a man delivering a UPS package
to an Old Indian Springs Road
home on June 6 at about 3:30
p.m. The man told deputy En
rique Hogan he placed a package
on the front porch of the home
next to the open front door which
had a glass screen door, which he
thought was secure. As he was
about to leave, he noticed that a
German Shepherd dog was at the
front door looking at him.
The man said, “As I backed up
away from the glass door and
attempted to flee, the dog forced
open the glass screen door and
began attacking me”. No photos
were taken of the bite marks due
to the victim’s leg being covered
with bandages.
He suffered puncture wounds to
his left thigh area which required
medical attention.
Hogan spoke to the dog owner
by video who told him the dog
was now locked inside a bedroom
at his home.
Possession of firearm lands
convicted felon in jail
A woman driving a white
Hyundai was clocked doing 98
mph on 1-75 S near Johnstonville
Road on June 10 around 10 p.m.
by deputy Jonathan Joyner who
later arrested her felon passenger
for possession of a firearm and
giving false information and cited
her for speeding.
At the stop, Joyner spoke with
the woman and her male pas
senger, explaining the reason for
the stop and while speaking with
them, he could smell marijuana
and requested backup.
He told the driver to step out
and asked her how much mari
juana was in the vehicle and she
replied none, but that they had
just smoked some. He asked if
there was anything else illegal, or
any weapons, and she stated no.
Joyner then went to the passenger
side and had the male subject exit
the vehicle. He said he had no
ID but gave his name and date of
birth.
With both subjects at the rear
of the vehicle, Joyner again asked
if there was anything in the
vehicle illegal and the passenger
said there was a gun in the glove
box. Both subjects said the gun
belonged to the driver’s cousin.
Sgt. Jake Justice arrived, and
Joyner performed a probable
cause search of the vehicle and
found a Glock .357. No drugs
were found.
Dispatch could not find the
name of the passenger, but he
insisted the name he gave was
correct. He began acting ner
vous, so Joyner handcuffed him
and placed him in the rear of his
patrol car. A short time later, he
gave his real name and date of
birth and dispatch said he had an
active warrant out of Gwinnett
County and was also a convicted
felon.
He was taken to jail, and the
driver was released.

driven by a 16-year-old male was
doing 101 mph on 1-75 S near
