Report: Woman trashed Union Hill office after eviction
A woman was arrested
after she trashed the Union
Hill Apartments managers
office in a fit of rage
after an eviction
notice. The police
departments incident
report said officers
David Asbell and
Arthur Musselman
responded to the
complex regarding a report
of a disturbance. As Asbell
arrived at the entrance,
Tekayah Grier, 23, stopped
her car to speak with them
and Musselman stayed with
her while Asbell went to
speak with the man
ager.
The manager, Chris
tina Williams, and the
maintenance man,
Robert Hall was in the
office where there was
a smashed window
and papers thrown about the
floor.
Ms. Williams said Grier
came to the office to discuss
her eviction became angry
and called Mr. Hall a liar
and when Hall responded,
Grier started calling him
out to fight. Williams said
that Grier went out of her
office cussing, snatching
fliers off the wall and started
slamming herself against
the exit door trying to break
it. Williams said she then
came back in the office and
knocked a Lenovo ThinkVi-
sion monitor off the desk
and left the building striking
the office window with her
hand. Security video con
firmed Williamss account of
the incident. The computer
monitor is valued at $245,
and the window is valued at
$300.
Asbell arrested Grier for
criminal damage to prop
erty and handcuffed her.
As he started to walk her to
Musselmans patrol unit she
started resisting. Asbell was
able to talk to her and calm
her down for a moment, but
Two Forsyth men get two loud music tickets
By Steve Reece
stevereece@gmail.com
Two men were each cited twice in
separate incidents for playing loud
music by Cpl. Jeremy Malone. Accord
ing to the incident reports released by
the Forsyth Police Department, Qavion
High, 31, was playing loud music from
a black 1998 Ford Crown Victoria
around 10:17 p.m. at the Royal 7 at 325
Cabiness Road then went inside the
store leaving the music playing and
the windows to his car rolled down.
Malone parked beside Highs car, got
out, reached inside his car, and turned
down the music. When High exited
the store, he was extremely upset with
Malone for reaching into his car while
the corporal was writing the citation.
On June 12, at about 6:05 p.m. High
was again playing loud music while
traveling on North Lee Street. Malone
stopped him just before Johnston Street
and High was so irate that he was yell
ing and shaking so badly he was unable
to control his hands. After receiving
this citation, High began accusing
Malone of targeting him.
And then Jaylen E. Jackson, 26, drove
through the Union Hills Apartments
complex playing loud music around
1:22 a.m. on June 13 and was also
cited for excessive volume. Malone
and officer John Bogdan were parked
on Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive at Par
sons Street when Jackson was flagged
down by Bogdan. Both officers could
smell marijuana coming from his 2001
Mercury Grand Marquis but were un
able to locate any weed in the vehicle.
After he was cited, he appeared to be
upset, turned his music back up, and
drove off aggressively by accelerating
quickly and having jerky movements
while turning. Malone told Bogdan
he could stop Jackson for the same
violations as before but when Bogdan
caught up to him, Jackson had turned
his music back down, so he let him go.
A few minutes later, while Malone
was discussing Jackson with Bogdan,
they heard loud music coming from
MLK Jr. Drive approaching from
Washington Avenue and saw Jacksons
Marquis and the music was clearly
coming from his car. Malone used a
range finder to get the exact distance
from where he was parked to where he
saw Jackson turn and it was just under
300 feet away. Jackson then turned
down Kynette Street and was stopped
as he turned right onto Parsons Street.
Jackson was very upset throughout
the stop and had someone on the
phone telling him what to do while he
was again cited for loud music.
she began resisting again. He man took her to the Monroe
was finally able to secure her County Jail and turned her
in the patrol car and Mussel- over to deputies.
