Andrew Jeffrey Gossett
September 29,1961 - June 23, 2022
Andrew Jeffrey Gossett of Bolingbroke passed away
quietly on Thursday, June 23,2022. Visitation was held at
Monroe County Memorial Chapel on Sunday, June 26,
2022.
Andrew was born on Sept. 29,1961, in Macon, to his
mother, Rachel Gossett, and his late father, Thomas
Gossett. For years, Andrew worked as an Aviation me
chanic at Robins Air Base, Warner Robins, and was often
credited with creating his own tools and making repairs
that other mechanics could not achieve. He was always
an outdoors man, and loved spending time fishing at
the river in Juliette, and claimed himself to forever be a
“Juliette River Rat.” When he wasn’t at the river, he spent
his time working on cars with friends and listening to his
favorite band “The Allman Brothers.”
Andrew is survived by his son, Zachary (Ansleigh)
Gossett of Forsyth. His mother, Rachel Gossett of Boling
broke. He is also survived by his siblings; Sherry (Bob)
Garza of Bolingbroke, and William B. Gossett of Forsyth,
and his brother-in-law, Mitch Stanovich of Juliette. He
leaves behind four grandchildren; Kiera Eden, Thomas
Kane, Thorsten Kage, and Knox Waylon Gossett; and
three nieces and a nephew; Amanda (Jeff) Holloway,
Melissa (Michael) Jones, Brandy (Will) Byrom, and Corey
Gossett. He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas
Gossett; sister, Dorothy Stanovich; and brother, Daniel
Gossett.

Report: Meth dealers
arrested at Red Roof Inn
Two Augusta area women were
arrested and charged on Monday,
June 27 with running a meth dealing
operation out of the Red Roof Inn in
Forsyth.
Amy Chason of Hephzibah and
Gabrielle Murphy of Augusta were ar
rested for possession of methamphet-
amine at the motel in Forsyth on June
27. Drug Investigators searched the
hotel room where the women stayed.
They found about 22 grams of meth-
amphetamine. Chason was wanted
from Richmond County for danger
ous drugs, and Murphy was wanted
from Warrenville, S.C. for dangerous
drugs. Both were taken to the Monroe
County Jail, and Chason was charged
with possession of methamphetamine
with intent to distribute.
Milton Hitson
December 27,1941 - June 21, 2022
Mr. Milton Hitson, 80, of Thomaston,
passed away Tuesday June 21,2022, at
Eternal Hope Hospice.
Mr. Hitson was born on Dec. 27,
1941, in Pope City, Ga„ to the late
Milton Russell Hitson, and the late
Josephine Sanders Hitson. He earned
a Masters Degree in Physical Educa
tion. He worked at Upson-Lee for 22 years as a football
and basketball coach, and was a member of Christ Chapel
Church. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Patti Lynch Hitson, of
Thomaston, daughter, Tangi Compton of Barnesville,
son Jeremy (Jennifer) Compton of Thomaston, brothers,
Romey (Debbie) Hitson of Forsyth, Edward "Skipper"
(Karen) Parker of Thomaston, and grandchild, Anna
Jayne Compton.
Funeral services were held on Friday, June 24 at Christ
Chapel Church. Burial followed at Upson Memorial Gar
dens. The family received friends on Friday, June 24 from
1-2 p.m. at Christ Chapel Church.

the Christ Chapel Be The Light Fund at 6127 Highway 19
South Zebulon, GA 30295.
Lester Luvin Freeman
July 5,1932 - Ju ne 26, 2022
Lester Luvin Freeman of Forsyth passed away Sunday,
June 26,2022. Visitation will be Thursday, June 30 from
6-8 p.m. at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Funeral
services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 1 at Forsyth
First Baptist Church. Officiating will be Dr. Benny Tate.
Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Griffin.
Lester was born in Forsyth, Georgia on July 5,1932 to
Luvin Guy Freeman and Ruby Mae Wooten Freeman. He
served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and later
served in the Georgia National Guard.
He was an avid fan of the old-style country music and
especially blue grass. He was a true southern gentle
man who loved God, his family and his country. He was
preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Geraldine
Johnson, Margaret Underwood and Frances Jones; broth
ers Benny Freeman and Melvin Freeman.
He is survived by wife Paula, daughter, Wanda Dix
(Mark), son David Freeman, step-daughter Kim Vignola,
step-son Robert Torbett; grandchildren, Krissy Hancock,
Kevin Freeman (Samantha), Travis Freeman and Emily
Freeman; great-grandchildren Keith Swanson, Lily Swan
son, Kaleb Hancock and Karolina Hancock; and step-
grandchildren A. J. Vignola and Nicole Vignola.

Sandra Ann Stephens Stanford
February 25,1963 - June 24, 2022
Sandra Ann “Bitsy” Stephens Stanford
of Forsyth passed away Friday, June 24,
2022. Funeral services were held at 11
a.m„ Tuesday, June 28 at Monroe Coun
ty Memorial Chapel with the Reverend
Brain Moore officiating. The family
greeted friends the day of the service at
Monroe County Memorial Chapel.
Bitsy was born in Royston at Ty Cobb Memorial Hos
pital on Feb. 25,1963 to the late Richard Lamar Stephens
and Lucy Joann Holcomb Adams. She was actively
involved with The Georgia Transplant Foundation. She
was an avid fan of country music, especially Alan Jackson
and she loved traveling the country with her husband.
She loved spending time with and taking care of her great
niece Jolie.
She was preceded in death by her two older brothers,
Richard Lamar Stephens Jr. and Henry Claude Stephens.
Survivors include her husband of 32 years Lamar Ray
Stanford of Forsyth, her brother Jeffrey Stephens (Beth)
of Forsyth, her sister Melissa Reynolds (RJ) of Gray,
her nieces Jodi Jones (Joey), Erin Crouch (John), Nikki
Stephens, Laurie McElmurray (Kaleb), her nephews Paul
Hartmann (Lindsey), Mike Stephens (Wendy), Joseph
Stephens (Brittney), Joshua Stephens (Amber), David
Stanford (Kaitlynn), Billy Stephens (Jess), Ricky Stephens
and 11 great nieces and nephews.
