Monroe County Middle School
Eunji Choi will teach 6th
grade math. She taught kinder
garten at Richland Elementary
for three year and is looking for
ward to the challenge of teaching
a subject she hasn’t taught before.
Something special she tries to
bring to her classroom is an in
clusive and positive environment.
Outside of teaching, she loves
traveling, working out, watching
movies and trying new food. She
shares with the community that
she will be asking many questions
as she takes on her new role at
Monroe County Schools.
Anna Coleman will teach
7th grade social studies. She is a
first year teacher who wants to
work for Monroe County Schools
because it has a reputation of
excellence and support for its
employees. Something special
she brings to her classroom is
enthusiasm for social studies and
a young energy. Outside of work
what is important to her is spend
ing time with those to whom she
is close. Her message to the com
munity is that she is thrilled to be
joining it and the district.
David McCullers will
teach 7th grade math. He taught
one year in Bibb County. He
wants to teach where education
and success are valued. Some
thing special he brings to the
classroom is the ability to connect
to students and to help them
connect math to the real world.
Outside of work, some of the
things most important to him are
his wife, his church, his dog, the
Georgia Bulldogs, his friends and
Disney World. He is excited to
meet his students and get a year
of learning, growing and succeed
ing started.
Millie McCullers will
work in special education
ACCESS and co-teach 6th-8th
grade. She taught in an ACCESS
classroom in Bibb County for two
years. She is attracted to Monroe
County Schools because the staff
is professional, supportive and
collaborative and it supports
families not just in education but
for the entire student. Some
thing special she brings to her
classroom is a strong emphasis
on relationships and communi
cation between teacher, student
and parent. What is important
to her outside of work is her
family, including her three young
siblings and her parents, who live
near her. They enjoy traveling
together, going to sporting events
and having cookouts. She and her
husband will soon celebrate their
first anniversary, and they have
an adorable puppy. Her message
to the community is that she
is thrilled to be here and looks
forward to working alongside so

many amazing individuals.
Ashley McDonald will
teach 7th grade science. She
wants to help further students
academically and athletically
and bring a variety of teaching
styles to her classroom. Outside
of teaching, she enjoys family
travels and playing golf. She loves
the small town feel of Monroe
County Schools and how admin
istrators back the teacher.
Kaitlynn McEwen will
be a special education parapro-
fessional. She has experience
working with students at Chick
Fil A that come from differ
ent backgrounds and working
with student with special needs.
Something special she brings to
her classroom is patience, creativ
ity and understanding. Away
from work, she enjoys hanging
out with her fiance and traveling
to find new adventures. Her goal
at Monroe County Schools is to
help students achieve their goals
to the best of their abilities.
Kelley Monahan will teach
chorus to grades 6-8. She is a
first year teacher with a Bachelor
of Arts degree in Music from
Georgia College & State Univer
sity. She is attracted to Monroe
County Schools because of the
community and support and be
cause of an open and welcoming
environment. Something special
she brings to her classroom is a
sense of home and safety that lets
students be themselves while they
are creating music together. Out
side of her job, she loves to cook,
bake and travel to see her family.
Her message to the commu
nity is: “This year is going to be
special for the chorus department
here at MCMS, and I can’t wait to
play a huge part in growing this
program.”
Dana Morris will teach 7th
grade social studies. She is com
ing from Henry County Schools
and is beginning her 17th year of
teaching. She has taught grades
lst-8th. She is attracting to Mon
roe County School’ reputation
for excellence in student behavior
and achievement. Something spe
cial she brings to her classroom is
her belief in making learning ex
citing, relevant and fun, including
discussions that promote critical
thinking. Outside of teaching, her
interests include family, friends,
horses, animals, crafts and read
ing. Her message to the com
munity is that she looks forward
to working with families and the
community.
Julia Pritchett will teach
8th grade math. She is beginning
her 37th year of teaching, with a
career that has included Minne
sota and Wisconsin. In Georgia
she taught in Newton County for
24 years, Butts County for three
years and Henry County for six
years. She was attracted to Mon
roe County Schools for it reputa
tion for academic success. She
says she loves her students and
enjoys building relationships with
them. Outside of teaching she
loves to read, and mysteries are
her favorite. “I am very excited to
be a part of the Monroe County
Schools family’ said Pritchett.
Anne Ragan will teach 7th
grade science. She has 15 years
of teaching experience, seven
years in public school and eight
years in private school. When
she moved to Forsyth, everyone
had positive things to say about
the school system, leading her to
want to teach in Monroe County.
Something special she brings
to the classroom is her love of
teaching and life experience.
Outside of teaching, her family
is important to her. She expects
to grow and stretch as a teacher
in Monroe County schools and
looks forward to challenges and
triumphs.
Christina Shanahan will
teach 7th grade math. She taught
for five years in the Muskogee
County School District. She
wants to make a positive impact
on students. Something special
she brings to her classroom is re
lating math to students’ interests
and everyday life. “I love being
able to make the mathematics
classroom fun and reach all types
of learners,” she said. Outside of
work she enjoys traveling with
her family and exploring new
places. She can’t wait to meet her
students and begin a successful
year.
Caleb Speir will teach
weight training and P.E. He is
a first year teacher and is glad
to be a part of Monroe County
Schools because everyone, both
students and staff, are valued.
Something special he brings to
his classroom is youth and the
bonus it brings in being able
to relate to students and build
positive relationship and a good
classroom environment. Away
from teaching, sports, family and
faith are important to him. His
message to the community is, “I
look forward to impacting the
lives of your children in a positive
way both in the classroom and on
the field!”
Jessica Willis will teach
ACCESS 7th & 8th science and
7th grade English language arts.
She comes to Monroe County
from Thomas County Schools
in Thomasville where she taught
four years of 3rd grade inclusion/
co-teaching, three years of 3rd &
4th grade severe and profound
self-contained and one year as the
online special education teacher
for 3rd & 4th grade during Covid.
She comes to Monroe County
Schools hearing nothing but great
things. Something special that
she brings to her classroom is a
variety of experience that helps
her best meet student needs.
Outside of teaching she enjoys
spending time with friends, go
ing to church, singing and going
to the gym. Her message to the
community is that she has a huge
heart for working with children
who have special needs and she
can’t wait to see the achievement
that will take place this year.
Monroe County Achievement Center
Monroe County Achievement Center serves students
in grades 6-12. In the 2021-22 school year it served 130
students with seven certified teachers (with 92years experi
ence between them.) 34 percent of the students were in the
flexible learning program, 30 percent of the students were
atMCACfor credit recovery, 29percent were assigned to
MCACforpunitive reasons and 7percent were atypical
students who learned better in the smaller setting than at
Mary Persons or Monroe County Middle School.
April Harvey will be
a paraprofessional. She has
been in Monroe County for
27 years and wants to teach
because she loves children.
Something special she
brings to her classroom
is motivation and caring.
Outside of work, family
and travel are important
to her. Her message for the
community is that she loves
kids and is excited about
her new role.
Victoria Wright
will be a flexible learning
program paraprofessional.
She has experience as a
preschool teacher. Her
children attend Monroe
County Schools, and she
loves the staff. Something
special she brings to her
classroom is her patience
and love of helping.
Outside of work family is
important to her. She is ex
cited to help students reach
their dreams.
