By Will Davis
publisher@mymcmet
Forsyth city manager Janice Hall
relieved police chief Eddie Harris
of his position on Friday, two days
after he blamed her for problems
in his department, according to
Mayor Eric Wilson. Hall said Maj.
Alexander Daniels is now the
interim chief.
Harris, who was at the Geor
gia police chiefs conference in
Savannah last week, talked with
Hall by phone on Friday Hall told
the Reporter that she and Harris
mutually agreed he would submit
his resignation. Hall said Harris
told her he would come by city hall
on Monday to meet her, but as of
press time that had not happened,
she said. Regardless, Wilson told

Miracle baby bom on
roadside in High Falls
By Will Davis

A North Carolina woman gave
birth to a 1 pound, 10 ounce baby girl
in the front seat of a Chevy Suburban
on the side of Harbour Shores Road
in High Falls on Saturday afternoon.
Abby Wiseman of Knightdale, N.C.,
near Raleigh, was 24 weeks pregnant
but had been cleared by her doctor
to visit her best friend from college,
Courtney Edison of High Falls, who
had some baby items to give her. The
father, Joshua Wiseman, stayed home.
On Saturday July 30, she began to feel
cramping, but chalked it to dehydra
tion and traveling stress. That is until
3:10 p.m., when her water broke.
Edison, who already has two chil
dren of her own, told Wiseman to call
her husband, because they were going
to the hospital. But they had not even
gotten out of the neighborhood when
little Lima Evangeline Wiseman made
it clear she was ready to arrive.
“She waits for no one!” the mother
Abby Wiseman told the Reporter.
So Edison slammed on the brakes,
called 911 and pulled her Suburban
on the side of Harbour Shores Road.
High Falls volunteer fire Capt. Ralph
Burris arrived within 4 minutes just
in time to watch Edison catch little
Luna Evangeline Wiseman around
3:35 p.m.
