INCIDENT REPORTS . August 3, 2022
The following incidents were reported by the Forsyth Police Department
and the Monroe County Sheriffs Office.
Suspended driver gives false
information, goes to jail
A man went to jail when he
tried to give officer John Bogdan
a false name and date of birth
around 4:02 a.m. on July 17 after
he was stopped for running a red
light on Lee Street at Main Street.
The driver told Bogdan he
didn’t have his license and said
his name was “Juantavious
Bloodser”. He then thought for a
few minutes and gave the officer
a different name saying he had
his name changed. When Bogdan
looked up the name, the picture
didn’t match the driver. The
driver explained that “he didn’t
have dreads then, but he does
now”. He continued to refer to
the person in the picture as “he”
instead of “I” so Bogdan had him
step out of the vehicle.
Officer Shanita Bell arrived and
searched Facebook and saw that
the person in the photo was not
the driver and he was arrested
then turned over to jail staff.
Bell continued the Facebook
search, discovered his identity,
and learned he had a suspended
license. He was cited for running
the red light, giving false infor
mation, and driving without a
license.
Man on motorcycle caught
with stolen pistol
A stolen pistol was recov
ered after deputy Hannah Hile
stopped a black 2003 Honda
CB900 motorcycle traveling on
1-75 S near North Lee Street with
an unreadable license plate on
July 17. The tag was blackened
from the smoke from the exhaust
pipes, but Hile was able to clean
off and read the expired registra
tion sticker. Dispatch reported
the bike had no insurance with
cancelled registration.
The driver gave Hile a Mexican
driver’s license but could speak
English and told Hile he had no
valid US license. He then admit
ted that he had marijuana inside
his pants and was handcuffed.
Inside a red duffle bag strapped
to the motorcycle was a Hi-Point
pistol with 3 hollow point bullets
loaded into the magazine. After
running the serial number, it
was learned the pistol had been
reported stolen in Douglas. He
was charged with receiving stolen
property and cited for driving
without a license, possession of
marijuana, no insurance, sus
pended registration, obscured
tag, and headlight requirements.
Truck driver cited for no
license and no insurance
A driver and front seat pas
senger were cited after they were
seen in a black Chevrolet truck
on Tiff College Drive not wearing
seatbelts near 1-75 on July 17. The
driver was cited for no insurance
and driving without a license.
After a stop by officer Richard
Maddox, the driver showed
paperwork for insurance but after
calling Allstate, customer service
told Maddox there was no active
policy because payment had
never been received. The vehicle
was towed by Buice Wrecker Ser
vice and the driver was released
to appear.
Woman arrested for no
insurance, no license, and no
registration
A woman was arrested for vari
ous traffic violations after officer
Richard Maddox stopped her in
her white Ford Crown Victoria
for turning right off Cabaniss
Road onto Frontage Road with
out signaling around 2:06 p.m. on
July 17.
Maddox learned the vehicle had
a suspended registration, no valid
insurance and that the driver had
a suspended license. When asked
about the insurance, the woman
said she thought she was covered
but was unable to give the name
of the insurance company. She
was then handcuffed and turned
over to jail personnel. Her car was
towed by Buice Wrecker Service.
Two men arrested after
speeding stop on interstate
Two men inside a vehicle that
reeked of marijuana were arrested
after a stop for speeding on 1-75
S near North Lee Street on July
17 at about 6 a.m. The unlicensed
34-year-old driver from Chan-
nelview, Texas handed deputy
Charles Bryson a Texas ID card.
Bryson told the man he could
smell marijuana and the man told
him he had a small amount in a
bag. He was then handcuffed.
The deputy then spoke with
the front seat 40-year-old male
passenger from New Orleans
who was the vehicle’s owner and
got his license. When he was told
dispatch said his license was sus
pended, he became irate yelling
that his license was valid.
He then stated he wasn’t driving
so it didn’t matter. Bryson told
him he could not take the vehicle
due to the suspension and the
car was being impounded, and
the man again started yelling
about his license. Bryson could
smell alcohol on his breath and
asked if he had been drinking.
He replied yes and that’s why he
wasn’t driving. The deputy also
had him exit the vehicle and
stand at the rear of his car. While
Bryson was doing a pat down of
him for weapons he continued
yelling and had someone on his
cellphone telling them his rights
were being violated.
A small plastic bag of what
appeared to be marijuana was
found in the car as well as a
loaded pistol between the center
console and the passenger seat.
An alcoholic beverage was in a
cup in the console.
The driver admitted the weed

was his but said he didn’t know
about the weapon. The pas
senger said the pistol belonged
to his wife. The driver was cited
and turned over to jail staff. The
passenger was cited for the open
container and charged with pos
session of a firearm by a con
victed felon.
Boy shoots into bathroom
window
The sheriff’s office was called
after a stray bullet hit the bath
room window of a home on High
Falls Road on July 17 around
1:51 p.m. The complainant told
deputy Shania Hawkins he was
walking out of his bedroom when
he heard his window crash. He
told the deputy he looked at the
window and realized it was a
bullet hole and saw a what was
possibly a .22 round lying on the
windowsill.
Hawkins went to a neighbor’s
home where a 13-year-old boy
told her he was target practicing
with his pellet rifle in the back
yard. The boy’s mother said she
was friends with her neighbor
and would pay for the damages.
Hawkins told the boy he needed
to be more aware of his sur
roundings.
Man driving uninsured
Malibu cited
A blue Chevrolet Malibu
traveling west on Main Street was
found to have no insurance by of
ficer Richard Maddox who made
a stop around 9:14 a.m. on July 18
at Indian Springs Drive. The male
driver told Maddox his lender,
