The Monroe County Grand Jury returned 22 counts against Benson, meaning jurors deter mined there was enough evidence to move forward with the charges against him. He was indicted on one count of sexual con tact with a person under his care, 9 counts of sexual exploitation of children, 11 counts of electronically furnish ing obscene material to minors and one count of illegal use of a commu nication device. If he was See BENSON Page 6A The Swingin Medallions filled the streets of the Forsyth courthouse square for a rockin’ last concert of the 2022 Summer Concert Series on Saturday, Aug. 6. Hundreds of people from around the area attended the concert, the last in a series of five put on by Forsyth Main Street. It was cut short after about an hour, however, by lightning and storms. Still, local restaurants were packed and downtown Forsyth looked as good as it ever has. The concert left the crowds eager to see what Forsyth Main Street and the city of Forsyth will bring to them in 2023 under new director Rebecca Headley.
