Woman seen on Ring system sitting on
stranger’s porch tries to fight off deputies
Woman seen on Ring system
sitting on strangers porch tries to
fight off deputies
An 18-year-old Forsyth woman
was jailed for obstruction after a
homeowner called dispatch and
said they could see an unknown
female sitting on their porch
from their ring camera system on
July 28. According to the incident
report, deputy Jonathan Joyner
was sent to 24 Oak Valley Drive
where he met with the complain
ant Ann Blodgett.
Blodgett told Joyner a young
woman had been on their prop
erty and didn’t seem to be acting
right. She said she left walking to
wards 91 Oak Valley Drive where
Joyner found Autumn Cheyenne
Richmond on the front porch of
the home. He asked Richmond
what the problem was, as she
seemed visibly upset, and she
stated she wanted her mom, who
“might” live here. Richmond
then said that she also lives here.
When Joyner asked what her
name was, she was very hesitant
on answering. She eventually
stated her name was Autumn
Richmond. When asked for her
birthday, she seemed confused.
At first, she stated her birthday
was January 30,2004, but quickly
changed it to October “some
thing”. When she was asked again
about her birthday, she said that
^ I s ' 16
Autumn Richmond
wished to speak with a lawyer,
and that she pleaded the fifth.
Joyner notified dispatch to send
EMS so that Richmond could
be checked out and she stood
up and announced that she was
leaving. The deputy told her to
stay but she said no and grabbed
her bags, causing Joyner to grab
her wrist. He told her to put her
hands behind her back, but Rich
mond began resisting and tried to
pull away. After a brief struggle,
Joyner was able to place her in
handcuffs in front of her body.
Joyner began walking Rich
mond to his patrol vehicle, and
she continued resisting, and try
ing to pull away. Lt. John Thomp
son helped cuff her behind her
back, but she still refused to
comply when told to get in the
back seat of the vehicle. At one
point, she began kicking Thomp
son multiple times, but they were
eventually able to place her in the
back seat. Upon searching Rich
monds bags before transport,
Joyner found a box containing a
small amount of marijuana.
Richmond was taken to the
Monroe County Detention Cen
ter and when exiting the patrol
vehicle, she again attempted to
rim off. Once the deputies were
able to get her inside the jail, the
jail nurse refused to accept her
before being medically cleared.
Deputy Christopher Marsh then
took Richmond to the Monroe
County Hospital, where she was
cleared, and returned to jail. War
rants were obtained against her
for misdemeanor obstruction as
well as felony obstruction.
Old Cork Road home burned
by arsonist
An Old Cork Road resi
dence fire on Saturday, July
30 was believed to have been
started by arson. According to
the incident report, Cpl. Dal
ton Mosely was dispatched to
98 Old Cork Road regarding
a domestic dispute and met
with the complainant Eliza
beth Mann, 33, who told him
her ex-boyfriend, Eric Ellison,
41, woke her up by light
ing the mattress where she
was sleeping on fire in their
home at 247 Old Cork Road.
Mann said she got up and
believed he had put it back
out. They began to argue, and
she said he grabbed her and
left a bruise on her right arm.
She also had a bruise on her
eyebrow.
Mosely went to the home
and announced himself
several times before he began
checking the residence and
found the back bedroom
had been completely burned.
Ellison had already left and
couldn’t be found.
Mosely returned to speak
with Mann who said she
didn’t know anything about
the bedroom being burned
up. The corporal told her that
due to the time frame of her
call he was not able to charge
Ellison for domestic violence
but advised her to go to Vic
tims Services at the Care Cot
tage for a restraining order.
Deputy Shania Hawkins had
been at the burned house ear
lier with the Fire Department
who is investigating the cause
of the blaze.
