N and a 25-year-old
Sparta man fleeing in a
gray 2021 Toyota was
taken was taken into
custody for fleeing,
aggravated assault on a
peace officer and other
charges on Aug. 15.
According to the
incident report Cpl.
Wade Kendrick was
notified by dispatch
that Peach County
Sheriffs Office was involved in a chase
with the Toyota driven by Denzel Warren
and was approaching Monroe County.
Deputy Enrique Hogan tried to deploy
spike strips at the Rumble Road exit, but
Warren avoided them. As the Toyota
passed Rumble Road Kendrick and deputy
Charles Bryson fell in the Peach County
deputies in the pursuit and the Warren
swerved towards Bryson’s patrol car in an
aggressive manner as is to ram his vehicle.
Bryson had to swerve to the right and
brake hard to prevent a collision at speeds
of over 100 mph.
Kendrick performed a successful pas
senger side PI.T. maneuver near milepost
182 sending the Toyota into a ditch. Bryson
and Sgt. Todd Haskins pulled up behind as
the suspect fled on foot from the crash into
a wooded area. The deputies ordered War
ren out of a thick briar patch where he was
hiding but he refused to emerge.
Kendrick then retrieved K-9 Rocky from
his patrol car and when Warren heard
Rocky barking, he came out with his hands
up and he was then cuffed and secured.

Kendrick could smell alcohol on the man,
but Warren refused to be tested.
He is charged with fleeing, aggravated as
sault on a peace officer, speeding, obstruc
tion (3 charges), failure to maintain lane,

Report: Drunk man goes berserk
By Steve Reece
stevereece@gmail.com
A domestic spat at the Shady Oaks Mo
bile Home Park on Hwy. 42 south on Aug.
16 resulted in a 29-year-old male resident’s
arrest by Sgt. Chris Sherrell. According to
the report, the complainant told Sherrell
her neighbor, Jacob Daniel Davidson, was
throwing stuff in his yard and yelling. She
pointed to the trailer and Sherrell
could see items in the yard and
yelling from inside the house.
Brooke Patterson was crying
and standing by the front porch
and told Sherrell that David
son had been drinking and had
thrown stuff in the yard. She also
said he had attacked everyone in
the house.
Sherrell went to the front door
which was locked. The neighbors
then yelled that Davidson was in the
backyard.
The sergeant then went to the backyard
where he found Davidson standing in
front of Anicee Bolton, yelling and visibly
upset. Sherrell told Bolton to go to the
front yard and loudly ordered Davidson
to get on the ground. Davidson at first
began to comply, but once Sherrell tried
to put him in handcuffs he jumped up
and became extremely combative. Sherrell
pointed his taser and ordered him to get
on the ground, but Davidson instead took
a fighting stance.
Sherrell then discharged his taser at
Davidson, striking him in the chest and
for roughly 5 seconds. Davidson appeared
to be unphased by the taser and instead
began to actively fight and resist. Sherrell
then struck Davidson with a closed fist to
his jaw and took him to the ground. Once
on the ground Davidson was still resist
ing and Sherrell delivered knee strikes to
Davidson while giving loud commands
to stop resisting and put his hands behind
his back. Davidson finally gave up and
was detained.
Monroe County EMS was called and
Sherrell removed the taser
prongs from Davidson’s chest.
Davidson also had a cut on his
head that required stitches. He
was escorted to the ambulance,
where he again became com
bative, and Cpl. John Cochran
and deputy Cory Adkins then
took Davidson to Monroe
County Hospital. The three
victims were checked out by
EMS and refused transport to the
hospital.
Bolton said that her and Davidson were
in a relationship and that he had been
under the influence of alcohol since the
night of Aug. 15 and was saying misogy-
nistic things trying to get a rise out of her
and Patterson. She said that she was trying
to get Jake to stop by breaking up the two
when he came after her and started hitting
her in the face and slammed her into the
wall behind the bedroom door while she
was collecting her belongings. She said he
kept hitting her in the face and ripped her
nail off.
Witness Austin Sanders said Davidson
was very drunk and enraged when he
ordered all of them to get out, and when
they didn’t get out as fast as he wanted, he
DAVIDSON
at Shady Oaks
started breaking things and throwing stuff
in the yard. Sanders said that Davidson
then began to attack” the females” and
that he yelled at Davidson to stop hitting
Anicee and that is when Davidson turned
towards him and started hitting him yell
ing “he was going to kill him” the whole
time. He stated that Davidson hit him
several times and hit his stomach with
an unknown object. He also said he saw
Davidson hit Anicee several times.
Patterson said she had been living with
Davidson and Anicee and that Davidson
was being belligerent and was very drunk.
She said he was threatening and destroy
ing stuff and getting in everyone’s face.
She stated that he then attacked both her
and Anicee and that is when Austin tried
to help but Davidson then began attacking
him yelling “he was going to kill him.” She
said Austin ran out of the house yelling to
call the cops, she said that is when David
son began to throw her stuff in the yard.
He then pushed her out the door almost
slamming her in the yard. She stated that
Davidson then pushed her into a chair
and hit her over her head with a basket
and locked her outside.
While interviewing victims, Sherrell saw
that Sanders had visible scrapes, Bolton
had a busted lip, and her left pinky nail
was ripped off. The inside of the home
was destroyed, with doors taken kicked
off hinges, and items thrown all over the
house. In addition, items had been thrown
out both the back and front doors. All
three victims completed a statement form
and pictures were taken of the scene and
injuries.
