Commissioners approves new records storage building
Monroe County Com
missioners on Tuesday,
Aug. 2 hired Forsyth-
based Proform Con
struction to build a new
records storage building
for $392,750 behind the
Monroe County Library.
County Manager Jim
Hedges said there were
four bidders on the proj
ect, including Proform.
Others included: East
Point-based Bryson
Constructors, Riverdale-
based RJB & Associates
Contractors, Inc., and
Flowery Branch-based
Crown Service Contrac
tors.
Hedges recommended
Proforms estimated bid
of $392,750 with funding
coming from among the
approximately $10.3 mil
lion remaining in bonds,
state funds, and federal
funds dedicated to build
ing or water projects.
Hedges said the new
records storage facility
will house documents
for the Monroe County
Sheriffs Office (MCSO),
Clerk of the Superior
Court, Finance Depart
ment, and County Clerk,
as well as other historical
records. He said the new
building will be 2,400
