Family’s camper destroyed
on way home from vacation
A family on their way home to Tampa, Fla. after a vacation had their 20-foot camper de
stroyed when the female driver ran off the road and flipped it over on 1-75 south just north of
Forsyth on Sunday afternoon. Two parents and their children were in a Dodge Durango pulling
the camper in the slow lane when the woman said a tractor trailer in the middle lane put on his
blinker to come into her lane. She then lost control of her car and ran onto the shoulder, causing
the camper to turn on its side, destroying the camper s walls. The woman claimed the tractor
trailer caused the wreck but Monroe County deputy Kevin Williams said they found no paint
transferred from the tractor trailer to the camper or Durango. The woman suffered a cut to her
arm but was otherwise OK and no citations were issued. (Photo/Steve Reece)
