INCIDENT REPORTS . August 31,2022
The following incidents were reported by the Forsyth Police Department
and the Monroe County Sheriffs Office.
Man on way to see his kids
busted with cocaine in car
A 37-year-old man from
Ideal was charged with cocaine
possession after a darkly tinted
2020 Chevy Malibu was stopped
just south of Hwy. 18 on 1-75 S
on Aug. 12. The man told Cpl.
Jaleel Brown the car belonged to
his girlfriend and while he was
searching through his phone for
the vehicles information, Brown
could smell marijuana. There
was a 35-year-old woman from
Lexington, N.C. in the passenger
seat.
The driver told Brown they
were going home to Montezuma
to visit his kids and were driving
from Lexington, N.C. He had a
Kentucky CDL license, but he
told the corporal he didn’t live in
Kentucky. Dispatch said the State
of Georgia had suspended his
license for nonpayment of child
support.
While the driver continued to
search for vehicle and insurance
information on his phone, Brown
spoke with the female passenger
who told him they were headed
to Macon to see the drivers fam
ily. She added she hadn’t met him
too long ago and was just along
for the ride.
Brown returned to the driver
and told him the windows on the
vehicle were very dark and the
windshield could not be tinted
at all.
He then asked about marijuana
smell coming from the vehicle
and the man replied he smoked
cigarettes, but no weed had been
smoked in the car.
Deputies found two small bag
gies of a white powdery substance
and crack cocaine in the center
console and the driver was ar
rested for possession.
The woman was found to be
wanted out of Henry County and
both were taken to the Monroe
County Jail.
Mich, man caught driving
through Monroe County with
weed in car
The smell of marijuana was
strong coming from a rented
2022 Toyota Camry stopped by
deputy Joshua Warren on Aug.
18 for failure to signal on 1-75 S
just past Hwy. 18. The 22-year-
old male driver from Kentwood,
Mich, told Warren he was driving
from Michigan to Miami and
planned to return in one day.
Warren thought it suspicious
that the man would drive 21
plus hours for a one-day trip and
asked why he didn’t fly. The man
replied that he just liked to drive.
The deputy asked him who
rented the vehicle, and the man
said his mother did because he
didn’t have a credit card. When
asked why he didn’t have a card,
the driver replied that they were
“just messed up”.
Warren then asked the driver
how much marijuana was inside
the vehicle. The man responded,
“None”. Warren told him he
could smell marijuana and that
he was not concerned with a few
grams but that he needed to be
honest. The man still insisted he
did not have any marijuana.
A large white plastic bag of
marijuana was then found under
the front passenger seat as well as
a black digital scale and several
small baggies.
The driver was taken into
custody and charged with failure
to signal and distributing mari
juana.
Woman wanted for hit and
run caught driving with il
legal tags
The driver of black Honda Ac
cord with three passengers was
found to have warrants and went
to jail after officer Richard Mad
dox ran the car’s tags while it was
traveling north on Lee Street on
Aug. 18. Dispatch said the tag be
longed on a Chevrolet Traverse.
The 29-year-old female driver
pulled over at the southbound
ramp of 1-75 and handed Mad
dox a paper copy of her driver’s
license. When he asked her about
the tag a man in the front pas
senger seat said he bought the
vehicle for her, and the tag was
on the vehicle when he bought
it. The driver handed the officer
a State Farm Insurance binder
for the vehicle but was unable to
produce a bill of sale. Maddox
ran the woman’s ID and learned
she had a warrant from Bibb Co
for failure to appear on a hit and
rim. She was then handcuffed,
and placed in the rear of the
patrol car.
Neither of the two male pas
sengers had ID, but after running
their names and birthdates, Mad
dox found that one had warrants
out of Griffin and Bibb County
and both agencies wanted to
place a hold. He was also arrested
and secured in a patrol vehicle.
The other passenger was released.
In addition to the warrant, the
driver was also cited for tag/regis
tration requirements.
Ex-husband threatens ex-
wife, her boyfriend, and
ex-mother-in-law
The ex-husband of a High Falls
woman is charged with three
counts of terroristic threats aafter
deputy Christopher Marsh was
dispatched to a Horseshoe Lane
home on Aug. 19. The complain
ant told Marsh her ex-husband
was threatening her life and had
said that he had a bullet for her.
She also said he had been threat
ening her boyfriend and her
mother as well. She said she had
gotten a divorce from the man
in 2019 and had not been living
with him since then but on Aug.
15, she had an argument with
him about his belongings at her
house in Henry County. She said
he bought those items for her
and left them with her after the
divorce. She added that he then
came to her house, started hitting
her and choked her. Marsh saw
that the woman had a lot of fresh
bruising on her arms, legs, and
neck.

According to the woman,
Henry County PD did not make
an arrest at the scene or seek war
rants at the time. The woman said
that she then left to stay with her
mother at the Horseshoe Lane
home because she was in fear for
her life.
She stated that her ex-husband
then came to her mother’s house
and started threatening everyone
at the home. Her ex-husband said
he was going to kill her and that
he had a bullet with her name on
it.
The woman’s boyfriend said the
man has been threatening his life
constantly for being with his ex-
wife and spending time with her
daughter. Emails were attached
to the report that were from
ex-husband to his ex-wife stating
that he was going to beat up and
kill her boyfriend.
The woman’s mother told the
deputy that the ex-husband said
the man said that he was going
to kill everyone including her. He
told her that he was going to “ff*k
up the entire family’
