JUST THE WAY IT IS by Sloan Oliver
What happened last week?
G reat, the election
is over. No more
political TV
commercials,
radio spots, text messages or
mailers. Things can get back
to normal. Correct? Before
we discuss what’s
normal, let’s look at
what happened last
week.
In Georgia,
statewide every Re
publican won their
election over their
Democrat
opponent
- Governor
Brian Kemp
and Iran; and opening the
southern border to 5,000+
illegals every day. Every one
of those Democrat policies
contributed to the 75% who
wanted the country to change
direction, and every one of
those policies was
supported by War-
nock. So, in the only
election in which
dissatisfied Geor
gians could say NO
to Biden and affect a
change at the national
level, somehow
K i1 (F) if Georgia voted
C for Warnock and
voted to contin-
had 2,109,255 votes (53.44%
of the vote) to Abrams
1,809,723 votes (45.85%);
Burt Jones (Lt. Gov) 51.42%;
Brad Raffensberger (Sec. of
State) 53.25%; Chris Carr
(Attorney General) 51.89%;
Tyler Harper (Agriculture
Commissioner) 53.00%; John
King (Insurance Com
missioner) 54.12%; Bruce
Thompson (Labor Commis
sioner) 52.11%; and Richard
Woods (School Superinten
dent) received 54.22%. The
only statewide Republican
NOT to win was Herschel
Walker who received 48.52%
to Warnocks’s 49.42%,
meaning Georgia will have
yet another senate runoff
election on December 6th.
Anyone else think the
Herschel-Warnock results
were strange? First, eight
Republicans won statewide
elections to zero Democrats
but somehow not Herschel.
Second, in a country that
doesn’t agree on much of
anything; a CNN survey
found that 75% of the voters
(both Dems and Reps) said
the nation was headed in the
wrong direction - meaning
voters wanted a change from
Biderfs “new normal” that
includes never ending Covid
edicts (Last week, the Biden,
yet again extended his emer
gency pandemic declaration.
Now that your Biden has a
taste of authoritarian power,
he’ll never let it end.); soaring
crime caused by Democrat’s
cashless bail and defund the
police movement; record
inflation directly caused by
Biderfs economic policies; a
war on energy and petroleum
that’s resulted in record gas
prices; a weakened military
that Biden wants to focus on
combating white supremacy
instead of our adversar
ies; foreign policy debacle
(Afghanistan) not seen since
Vietnam that resulted in 13
American deaths, hundreds
left behind, and $$$billions of
military equipment in terror
ist hands; disastrous foreign
policy that has emboldened
China, Russia, North Korea,
ue Biderfs horrible policies;
policies rejected by 75% of
the voters. That somehow
Georgians don’t like Biden,
don’t like his policies yet we
voted for Warnock who will
continue Biderfs policies
defies logic. No, no, no -
nothing strange, move along
and accept the election results
told to us by the same media
who despises people like us
in Monroe County.
Let’s take a look at the
Monroe County (MC) vote.
MC had a 64.57% voter
turnout which was above the
state average of56.92%. Ac
tually, MC is in the top 10%
of counties for voter turnout
in Georgia. (Oconee County
had a 74.5% turnout while
Chattahoochee had a lowly
31.4%. Voter turnout is num
ber of votes cast compared to
registered voters.) That said,
both the Georgia turnout and
MC’s are terrible; it should
be above 80%. Then again,
I would rather have a fewer
number of informed voters
than a higher number of un
informed voters. MC voted
overwhelmingly Republican.
Kemp received 10,309 votes
or 75.18% to Abrams 3,314
and 24.17%. (The fact that
46% of Georgians and 24% of
MC voted for Stacey proves
we have a large number of
ignorant voters. Apparently,
24% of MC voters think that
Stacey would do a better job
than Kemp. Stacey wants to
take your guns, abort babies
dining the entire pregnan
cy, defund the police (her
words), implement cashless
bail, teach school children
to be racist, force dangerous
Covid vaccines to young
children, continue Biderfs
war on energy, and she hates
the state. How would any of
those policies benefit Georgia
or MC?)
Other Republicans who
were re-elected include
Representative Austin Scott
(8th Congressional District),
Senator John Kennedy
(Senate District 18), David
Knight (House District 134),
Dale Washburn (District
144), and Robert Dickey
(District 145). Also, MC’s
E-SPLOST (Education - Spe
cial Purpose Local Option
Sales Tax) passed with 8,905
votes (66.73%). With the
E-SPLOST being approved,
MC’s sales taxes will remain
at 8%. I don’t think that vot
ers will support any higher
sales taxes regardless of
commissioner promises that
taxes will be paid by people
traveling through or threats
that Plant Scherer’s county
taxes are going down.
This endless voting season
and vote counting is a joke.
We’ve become the world’s
laughingstock. The fact
that voting starts weeks
before Election Day and the
counting continues for days
afterwards is a disgrace and
breeds distrust into the sys
tem. How is it that in every
close election, the counting
is extended and suddenly
late (and uncounted) ballots
show up for the Dem? Here’s
how it works - the Dem is
behind by “X-number” of
votes; so, the vote counting
is extended (for days) until
boxes of uncounted ballots
“show-up” and suddenly the
Dem pulls ahead; the election
is called for the Dem; and the
media calls you a conspiracy
wacko and vote denier if
you don’t accept this “new
normal” election process.
This country needs to
return to voting on Election
Day. Voting should be in
person with very, very few
absentee ballots, NO mail in
ballots, NO ballot harvest
ing, and NO “drop boxes”
where ballots can be dropped
off with no accountability.
Florida and Georgia have
gotten the election process
correct (I still think there’s too
much vote by mail.) while
California, Arizona, Colo
rado, Nevada, and Oregon
elections are broken. Actu
ally, eight states (California,
Colorado, Hawaii, Nevada,
Oregon, Utah, Vermont, and
Washington) only do mail-in
voting. Anyone else think it’s
just a coincident that seven of
those are solid Leftist/Dem
states?
Weekly Thought: Gov
ernments don’t want well in
formed, well educated people
capable of critical thinking.
That is against their interests.
They want obedient workers,
people who are just smart
enough to run the machines
and do the paperwork. And
just dumb enough to passive
ly accept it. - George Carlin

PIG
Continued from Front
Nov. 9.
According to a sheriff’s report, deputies
Matthew Posey and Cody Maples were
dispatched to 4308 Boxankle Road where
Deanna Tucker told them her pig had been
shot by her neighbor, Jeannot Oeullot, earlier
in the week. The pig was in obvious distress
and Tucker asked Maples to put it out of its
misery.
The deputies spoke with Oeullot who
admitted he had shot the pig due to it digging
up his yard. He said he had already asked
Tucker to keep the pig out of his property on
several occasions.
