SEC champs draw Buckeyes
The No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs solidified their place atop the college football world by beating LSU 50-30 on Saturday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in
Atlanta. Above, Dillon Bell catches a TD pass for the Dawgs. At bottom, Monroe County s Frank and Amanda Casey, with daughters Lauren and
Meghan, were among those on hand, but it was a house divided. Frank attended LSU but Lauren attends UGA. At right, Monroe County’s Denny Ennis
had a front-row seat. The day after the game, on Sunday, UGA was selected as the No. 1 team for the College Football Playoffs. The Dawgs will play
No. 4 seed Ohio State in the same stadium in Atlanta at 8 p.m. on Dec. 31. The winner will play in the Championship game in Los Angeles on Jan. 10,
2023, and the Dawgs hope to have the chance to win a second consecutive national title for the first time in school history. Meanwhile UGA s former
walkon quarterback Stetson Bennett piled up accolades, being named a finalist for the Heisman Trophy, which will be awarded this Saturday night.
Bennett also was named the winner of the Burlsworth Trophy for being nation s top former walk-on. (Photos/Park Davis)

points. After this game,
the teams record has now
