ROBBERS
INCIDENT REPORTS . December 7, 2022
The following incidents were reported by the Forsyth Police Department
and the Monroe County Sheriffs Office.
Driver arrested for speeding
33 mph over the limit
The driver of a black BMW was
clocked doing 103 mph on 1-75
on Nov. 26 and the 22-year-old
male driver was arrested by offi
cer Jerry Rafferzeder for speeding
33 miles an hour over the limit
and taken to jail for further pro
cessing.
Woman arrested after
driving away from
domestic issue drunk
A Forsyth man called 911 on
Nov. 24 and said his girlfriend
was drunk and tried to rim over
him in a 2017 Kia Optima. Depu
ty Charlie Bryson spotted the Kia
at the stop sign on Bolingridge
Drive at Old Macon Road.
The 55-year-old woman told
Bryson that she and her boy
friend had gotten into an argu
ment and he hit her in the face
and left walking. She got into her
car and decided to home.
Bryson told her to step out and
as she exited the vehicle, she was
unsteady on her feet and had to
use her car for balance. Her eyes
were red and watery and had
trouble with a roadside eye test.
During the sobriety test she said,
“I can’t do this, just take me to
jail.” She also refused the portable
breath test and was cuffed. When
told she was being taken to jail,
she said she was the victim of an
assault, and she shouldn’t be the
one going to jail. She was trans
ported to the Monroe County Jail
where she refused to submit to a
blood test. She was charged with
DUI-refusal, expired registration
and seatbelt violation.
Three family members
cited after fight
Three family members were cit
ed for disorderly conduct after a
fight in a home on Towaliga Trail
on Nov. 26. A man identified as
the main aggressor told deputy
Thomas Morgan the problem
started when his two grandfa
thers started to have an exchange
of words and he spoke up and
said, “Hey y’all chill out. We are
here for a birthday party. Not to
argue with each other.” He said
that he blacked out and started
swinging when he saw someone
hit his mother.
A woman said that her ex-hus
band jumped on the man and
held him down. The two men
and the woman were cited.
Woman cited for loose dog
A woman on McCrackin
Street complained to deputy
Tyler Rodgers on Dec. 1 that her
neighbor’s black lab had been
running loose. She said the dog
had run up under her house and
knocked several things over. She
added that the dog had bit her
husband in the past and believed
it killed three of her cats. Rodgers
saw the dog running through
several yards and down the road.
He spoke with he owner who said
the dog doesn’t get out often, but
when it does, he rims around for
a little while and comes back. She
stated he has never bitten anyone.
She was cited for the loose dog.
Unlicensed driver caught
with stolen pistol
A Florida man was cited with
receiving stolen property and
other charges after a stop for dark
window tint on Dec. 4. Cpl. Larry
Sullivan made the stop near mile
marker 190 on 1-75 S on the
Dodge Challenger that had tint
on the windshield as well as the
passenger windows.
The vehicle pulled over to the
left shoulder and the driver told
Sullivan he didn’t have his license
on him. Sullivan could smell
marijuana and asked him to
step out. The Jacksonville driver
denied there was any weed in the
car but that a friend had recent
ly smoked inside. He was very
nervous while the corporal was
speaking with him. His license
was suspended and Sullivan had
him turn around and cuffed him.
A small plastic bag containing
small pieces of marijuana was
found in the center console and
a black grinder containing pieces
of marijuana was under the front
passenger side seat. A 9mm pistol
found in the rear pocket of the
front passenger side seat was
returned as stolen.
As Sullivan walked back with
the pistol in his hand, the man
said, “Aw man he left that in my
»
car.
When asked where the pistol
came from, he said his friend left
it in his car but did not want to
give any information about who
his friend was so that he didn’t get
him in trouble.
He was taken to the Monroe
County Jail where he was turned
over to jail staff and received
a warrant for receiving stolen
property. He was also cited for
window tint, possession of drug
related objects, and driving while
license suspended.
