By Will Davis

The owner of the La Pas-
adita restaurant in Forsyth
was sentenced to 12 months
in jail on Tuesday for a
tussle with a deputy during
a 2021 traffic stop that was
caught on tape.
Before this weeks trial,
district attorney Jonathan
Adams had offered Raul
Guzman probation and
a fine in exchange for a
guilty plea to misdemeanor
obstruction and three traffic
citations. But Guzman, who
videotaped the encounter
in which he was Tased,
insisted on a trial. A local
Facebook commentator
had posted about the case
and originally accused the
sheriffs office of abuse in
the case, and a Macon TV
station carried the story too.
But after 2 days of testimony
this week, a Monroe County
jury took about 30 minutes
to find him guilty on all four
counts.
Assistant district attorney
Dorothy Hull told Judge
