Momentum Church celebrates volunteers
By Steve Reece

Around 175 volunteers
and their families were at
the Momentum Christian
Church - Forsyth Campus
2023 Volunteer Celebration
held at the Monroe County
Rec Center on Friday, April
21. This is the third year the
church has held a celebra
tion in recognition of its
volunteers. Last year the
event was held at the Indi
an Springs Amphitheater
and in 2021 it took place at
Fox City.
Campus pastor Seth
Hoover said they try to
think of creative ways to
honor and thank their vol
unteers. Hoover said, “They
serve our church so well
throughout the year, so we
look for ways to intention
ally serve them. Last years
event was low-key and was
built around a relaxed envi
ronment that led to simple
conversation.”
This year the church
wanted to create an expe
rience that was a blast for
the whole family where
they would work together
and laugh together. So, they
created a “field day” theme
including an old-fashioned
sack race and a three-
legged race.
The invite list was roughly
140 volunteers and their
families, representing ten
different ministry teams.
Everyone enjoyed the Var
sity food truck and free ice
cream from the Momen
tum ice cream truck.
