The demand waa brisk from tha openlnff. both for spots and f o b. cot ton. and as a result the day closed with a Urge business to Its credit. Exporter* se<mad to want cotton, and when this Is the case, they are gom-rally willing to meet holder's prices. The day's receipts were 10.22$ bales. The spirits turpentine market opened linn at 364 cents, and closed llrm at a decitns of 14 cent. After the dosing It was currently reported that the situation was easier, and that It was possible fur ther concession* may be made on the part of ractors. Kosins closed firm and un changed, with a good business doing Ow ing to the celebration of the Jewish holi day, and the consequent closing of many of the large Jobbing Ironses, business In the wholesale -lines was restricted.
