satisfaction of the urgent demand from
the short Interest. The brokers were too
busy on the floor last night In the closing
hour to notice what was going on In Ihe
loan crowd. lut the fact was disclosed
tha morning that th* supply of stock* was
again very alun tant a* a result of th*
heavy reduetbu In the outstanding short
interest and the consequent tarrrowlng de
mand for stocks This. In Itself, was suf

In addition there was the usual lack of
