Tha day In the cotton futures market
r ,rty featureless. The weather bu

The market closed atcady. with pncea Z®

The naval stores market showed
strength as to turpentine, and weakness
as to roelns. The turpentine market
jumped to 10 rents, at which the tone w-e
firm, while roelns declined sharply on m< -
Aiurns. There waa a fairly gol demand
for spirits during the early hours, though
a large part of this demand waa for do
mes' account, and hence limited amours
wet. wanted. It was not understood that
the larger buyers were after any consider
ate suppfiea. and will probably not be in
the market at the present price unle a

dertone of the rosin market was sai l to

demand was not heavy, and the day's

the spot were 749 bales. The receipts were
* 73* against 5.141 last year, and 12.781

been holding out of the market for sev

re-enter for more Important operations
shortly. if they enter with a rush the ad

remarkably well and we think should be
