larceny. The negro had recently been
employed by the Oriental Pressing Club,
but w.ia discharged a day or two ago.
Washington decided that he would make
some *|Miro change and called at the home
of Mr. Hlafcr and said that the pressing
club f>eople wanted to clean a suit of
clothing.
The negro funl called for wearing apparel
before, and the suit was promptly turned
over to him. As soon as It was learned
that the negro was no longer employed
hy the pressing club search was begun
for him Washington a|<peared In th**
neighborhood of State and Whitaker
street*, hut when he saw Mr Ohirlos
While of the pressing club he started
on a run down Bull at root. The chase
was an exciting one. and many Joined In
it. The negro was finally captured In
front of the county ('mart House and
was turned over to Officer Winn, who
ha*l endeavored to bead him off. The
charge of larceny entered gainst Wash

Bells A Gray'* circus was delayed *n
route to Bavannah from Miami, but It Is
due In this city this morning. Word was
received by the railroads yesterday from
Jacksonville tfcat the circus was in (bat
city and would leave late in the after
noon for Bavannah. Allowing for the
usual delays that attend the progress of
a circus train, when 11 Is In no particular
hurry, anyway, the show should rea'h
here this morning.
The passenger men were rather expect
ing that there W'ould be n lot of business
to look after upon (he .arrival of the cir
cus here. b*t It has proven that th~ro
will not he as much as they were looking
for. Information received yesterday In
dicated that the circus had disbanded a?
J icksonville. the "artists" leaving that
point for their home*. It Is probable that
there will 1> a few passengers to leave
this city, and the soliciting men will have
n , hunce to do i little tine work In get
ting •hom for their lines.
About I‘W head of stock are looked for
with the circus, which will establish win
ter quarters. It Is supposed there will
be a number of care-takers and attend
ants who will also stay with the stock
and animals. Arrangements have w*en
made for trackage mom for the circus
cars, which will require 600 feet.
