FELTZ-REAGAN FIGHT.
10 1“* I’nlied Off iu St. Louis Before
West Kiil Club To-night.
Tommy Foltz will fight a twenty
bout with Johnny Reagan of
TANARUS, oklyn before the West End Club oif
Louis to-night. While this bout
is not created as much interest as
jvliz's battle with Harry Fortbes did
short time ago, yet there is a good
deal of interest in the result, as Rea
. m is considered to be an exceptional
lv clever boy. „ .
' xhe bou't by rounds will be report-
e i tr :n the ring side at Charles Le
vin's. There la a possibility that Feltz
w ‘;i also fight on March IT, this time
, n Chicago. An effort is being made
u t Forbes for this bout, but should
this prove inn possible or impracticable
1 me other good man will be substi
tuted.
U is not known just when Feltz will
return to Savannah but when he does
j,p will be matched with some top
notcher. Negotiations are now on with
iustin Rice for this bout but ao far
he has not been heard from.
The next bout of the Savannah Ath
letic Club will be held Monday r.ight
when Tommy Corcoran will meet Jack
Ciece. Tommy is in good shape hav
ing been in fine form for his bout with
Zeigler, and Grace is also In good con
dition and still working. No prelimi
nary to this bout has yet been ar
ranged but it is likely that Sheehan
will be matched with some man for the
opening bout.

George I. Palmer, who says the track
is in excellent condition, are loooklng

AT THE THEATER.
The Grau Opera Company sang the
"Bohemian Girl” last night to an au
diehce which enjoyed it, judging from
the encores. The opera is an old one,
but a sweet one. And it found capa
ble hands in Harry Davies, Ed. Eagle
ton, Mary Carrington, Bessie Tanne
hill and Chas. Swickard. Upon these
fell the most of the work. Mr. Davies
was encored on “Remember Me.” Miss
Carrington sang sweetly and was en
cored, when she gave “Marble Halls,”
and. Mr. Swickard sang “The Heart
Bowed Down” admirably. Miss Tan
nehill possesses one of the best voices
in the company; and she made a splen
did Gypsy Queen. For ©very selection
she was encored and a beautiful bou
quet of flowers was sent over the foot
lights to her during the evening.
The opera was well put on. The
scenery was good and the costumes
were a feature. Little three-year-old
Everett Castle was cast for the child's
part and did it cleverly. Last nigh't he
was pouting with the chorus and made
the part go as he wished without
sticking to his lines. Master Castle
does a clever dance.
“Wang” will be the bill to-night
with the following cast:
La Vouve Frimousse, widow of the
late French consul of Peechaburi,
Bessie Tannnehill.
Marie, her step-daughter, Mary Car
rington.
Gilette, her eldest daughter, Mattie
Martz.
More daughters, Nanette, OUie
Kirschbauni; Coraliet, Emma Wells;
Delphine, Grace Yost; Rosaline, Belle
Tifton.
District messenger, No. 365, Et|iel
Grau.
Mataya, crown prince of Siam, Grace
Hazard.
Col. Eraeasse, military instructor
Siamese troops, Chas. Swickard.
Jean Boucher, lieutenant of French
troops, Harry Davies.
Chow Sury, inn keeper, A. E. Ar
nold.
Camcodian envoys, Panompin, John
Yost; Jacoulin, A. E. Arnold.
Dancing master, Martin Cheesman.
High priest, George Lord.
Pepat, keeper of the Sacred Ele
phant, Stanley Felch.
Wang, Regent of Siam, Edward
Eagleton.
Savannahians have seldom heard a
better company at popular prices, to
which Mr. Grau is playing. Indeed,
many of the high priced companies
visiting Savannah have not produced
the good singers which are heard in
the Grau company. Both Miss Tanne
hill and Miss Carrington have splen
did voices, while Harry Davies is far
and away in advance of any tenor
heard here recently. Felch and Eagle
ton are admirable fun makers, while
Miss Hazard's charming vivacity
gives life and snap to every produc
tion.
Monday night is the date set for the
opening of a week's Engagement by the
Spooner Dramatic Company at the Sa
vannah Theater. "Nell Gwynn” has
been selected for the opening perform
ance. The following is what the Tam
pa (Fla.) Tribune said:
“The Spooner Dramatic Company
opened its week’s engagement at the
Casino last night, presenting ’Nell
Gwynn.” Time and fortune have dealt
kindly with the Spooners since their
last visit here, and it is evident that
their talents have been appreciated by
people of other sections of the coun
try. The genial F. E. Spooner is back
with us again, despite the rumors that
have reached Tampa of his untimely
death—and Miss Allle Spooner, whom
Tainpaites remember so pleasantly,
has improved w'onderfully in the two
years since she last appeared here.
It was with some misgivings that

the misgivings vanished before the first

the stage story of ’Sweet Nell of Old
Drury,’ were quite naturally and very
cleverly reached and rendered by the
company. The support of Miss Spoo
ner, who has the title role, is in
finitely superior to that of the last ap
pearance of the company in Tampa.
There is anew leading man, Frar%

King Charles last night with a grace

TO TELL OF ITALY’S CITIES.
Prof. Parks’ Lecture on Rome, Pisa,
Genoa and Florence.
Prof. M. M. Parks will deliver_ the
■ last of the Camera Club's course of il
lustrated lectures on European travel
at the Lawton Memorial Tuesday night,
March 25. His subject will be “Italian
Cities.”
The lecture will be illustrated with
nearly 100 views of Pisa, Genoa, Flor
ence, Naples and Rome. The principal
part of the lecture will be
on Ancient and Modern Rome,
dealing with the Eternal City as
it is to-day and as it was in
the days of the Roman empire. During
Holy Week great interest centers in the
observance of the church in the Vatican
and at St. Peter’s Cathedral, and many
of. the views will illustrate ceremonies
of Holy Week and the preparations for
Easter.
Prof. Parks will touch upon the art
and architecture and the social life of
the Italian capital. In Florence he will
touch upon the life and works of
Dante.
The lecture promises to be by far
the most interesting of the course.
