ERROR IN ALMANAC
Caused Sensation Anion*: Segroea nt
Milledsevllle.
Mliledgevine, Ga., Nov. 28.—Several
days ago many of the negroes of this
community were considerably agitated
by ft report that the world was coming
to an end. It was predicted that the
world would suddenly be in darkness
at about 1 o’clock in the day. When
questioned as to the source of this
startling information, one ignorant ne
gro girl stated that the Bible said so.”
Upon further Investigation, it has been
found that the report originated not
from the Bible, but front Grier's alma
nac. A typographical error in the al
manac made it say that the sun would
set one minute after 1 o'clock; some
mischievous person, noticing the error,
started the report, which, in the minds
of a few ignorant negroes soon became
the "gospel truth.”

Tifton Termiiinl Company Stay Go to
Irwin vf lie.
Tifton, Ga.. Nov. 28.—The Tifton Ter
minal Company has completed three
miles of track, which connects it with
the H. H. Tift tramroad, three miles
out from Tifton. The terminal com
pany owns several miles of tracks in
side the city limits, and does an ex
tensive transfer business. Connected
with the Tift tramroad, it has near fif
teen miles of line into Irwin county,
reaching nearly to Irwinville. Humor
has it that the line will be finished to
that city.
