March X —The fea ture of to-day's cotton market has been the small movement, and the ex tremely small estimate of tbe insight movement for the week as compared with last year, both of which are re garded as very bullish, and largely accounts for the steady market we have had to-day. Liverpool closed firm around opening prices Mew York s fluctuations during the dsy have beer, narrow, but tbe tendency has been up ward. Tbe trade savors strongly of a holi day season, and is mostly professional, but the bull sentiment has predominat ed during the latter part of the session, and the genera) impression is that we will see better prices next week. We (oneider the market in a wafe position and favor purchases on any eery spot On Mew To Of close to-night, Liver pool is due to come 19 to 12 up to-mor row. WARE A EEL AAD say There Is *r; is Taking rot fun a Weak Spots. New Tork. March Me—After all is said and done the market to-day was a greater exhibition of strength than weakness. There wa* very little busi ness. almost none, yet the prices held well. Liverpool failed to advance n a way to bring in outside buyer* here, and of 'curse the holiday had some thing to do with IE New Orleans wa* firm. Prices there ran all the way from 35 t© 45 point* over us on July, and May sold 15 to 54 points over May here. A* long as Liverpool keep* s tent over May. and New Orleans keep* sts premium, there 1* not likely to be much pressure on the New Tork market; in fact, it 1* a question whether short* will not grow nervou* In event of good exports and small receipts during the next few weeks. It is a strong po sition we have In cotton and the only trouble i* trader* get too long and have to shell out or, the first break. At 15 rente cotton 1* selling at a good price, and we would buy on breaks only. In case Liverpool take* the cot ton sh*> should take or the amount there conversant with facts in the cage believe she should take, there is likely to be a lively market for some week' For the present buyer* at 15 cent* are not numerous, and it take* a break to bring in business.
