tion has been made for the Incorpora
tion of the “I>anark improvement Com
pany of Lanark Springe, Fia.,” the In
corporations’ principal office being
either at Lanark, Fla., of Bainbridge,
In the discretion of the directors. The
Incorporators, are J. P. Williams of
Savannah, J. W. Callahan, R. L. Uz
ell. W. M. Legg and Jno. E. Donhl
son of Bainbridge. The capital stock
is $25,000, of which $12,175 has been paid

The object of the company is the
Improvement of Lanark Springs, which
Is now a summer resort on the Geor
gia. Florida and Alabarrfa Railway and
situated on the Gulf. The resort has
been used for the past two seasons,
but it is the purpose of the owners
thereof to make both a winter and sum
mer resort of the place, they now be
ing engaged in installing stehm heat,
electric lights and other conveniences.
Parks and drives and additional bath
ing houses are being constructed, and
Lanark Springs bid fair to become a
resort of note in connection with the
growth of the Georgia, Florida and
Alabama Railway, whose stockholders
also own Lanark.
Bainbridge*’ New Telephone Line.
Bainbridge, Ga., Nov. 26.—8 y the
first of the coming week the Southern
Bell Telephone will have Installed its
long distance line and Bainbridge will
Wave telephone connection with the
outside world. Heretofore, it has had
no connections other than a line operat
ed by the local exchange to Thomas
ville, where it connected with the Bell.
The Bell people are Installing a
double copper wire service from here
to Thomasville and have all but one
or two miles of the line up and ready
for operation. This is one of the re
sults of the recent fight between the
Bell Company and the local exchange,
it being the purpose of the Beil system
to establish a complete exchange in
Bainbridge in opposition to the Bain
bridge-Blakely Telephone Company,
which had control of the exchange here.
