GREEK ARRESTED ON GRAVE CHARGE FOR ATTEMPTED ASSAULT. tE> -.Y EAR-OLD WHITE GIRL HIS INTENDED VICTIM. Little Hannah Kaasella Said the Greek Made Improper Proponala to Her la a Candy Store at Broughton and Barnard Streets Last Friday Sight and Tried to Entice Her Into a Back Room. Friends of the Greek Made an Ef fort to Have Him Released on Ball. Tsatse Medes, a Greek candy maker, wa? arrested by Detective Frank Wall yesterday afternoon, charged with at tempted criminal assault on Hannah Kassell, the 11-year-old daughter of Mr. Jacob Kassell, and is held in default of $2,000 bond. Although the attempt Is alleged to have been made last Friday night, no report was made to the detective until shortly before the arrest was made, when the father of the young girl, who had been absent from the city, returned. Medes was employed in a candy store at Broughton and Barnard streets. He is 23 years of age, and says he came to America two years ago from Constantinople. Girl Makes Clear Statement. According to a statement made to ihe superintendent of police by Mr. Kassell, who appeared at police head quarters last night, accompanied by his daughter, Medes had seized the girl when she screamed and ran from the shop. Mr. Kassell, repeating what his wife had told him, said that on Fri day night Mrs. Kassell had sent the child over to the store to get some randy. In a short while she return ed very much excited. She is a very intelligent girl for her age, and re peated what is alleged to have oc curred at the store. She said the clerk engaged her in conversation and told her she was a pretty little girl. He tried to entice her behind the counter, and made several remarks to her, which she did not understand. He caught hold of her arm, she said, and tried to get her to go into a back room. She pulled away and ran from the store. Defective's Senreli for Accused. When the case was reported to De tective Wall he went to the candy store, which is conducted by George Versaille, and asked for the clerk who was on duty Friday night. He was told that the man was no longer em ployed there, but had gone to New York. The plain clothes man made a thorough search of the place, without discovering the man he was looking for While he was standing talking to the proprietor, after the search, Medes walked in and was arrested. While being carried to police head quarters Medes inquired what he was wanted for and appeared not to un derstand when the detective told him. He was identified by the young girl at the station house. An effort was made to have the man released on bail, which was fixed at $2,000, but up to a late hour it had not been furnished. Loss of appetite? Lack of energy ? Pain in stomach? Bowels ? General weakness? These are but a few of the signs of indigestion. Some others are: Wind in the stom ach or bowels; constipation or diar rhoea; pale complexion; spots before the eves; dizziness; loss of flesh; irri tability: sleeplessness; nervousness. All these symptoms will plague and torment you, and will never perma nently leave you. once you suffer from them; only are sure, In time, to get worse, if not treated by the best known 'scientific method of cure —Stuart's Dyspepsia Tablets. These curative tablets are composed of ingredients which modern knowl edge of the true inward processes of digestion approve of, as forming the best, safest, surest and most scientific combination of medicinal drugs, that can be used to relieve all the condi tions of ill-health brought on by this much-dreaded disorder. A disease so "protean" or change able in its manifestations, assuming so many forms, characterized by so many different symptoms that, more time's than not. It Is mistaken for some other disease altogether, and the poor patient may die, or at best allow the seeds of permanent chronic slcknss, to germinate and take root In his system. So it Is a real danger we ask you to avoid, when we say: In case of doubt, take Stuart’s Dyspepsia Tab 'P Even If disordered digestion Is not the real cause of your sickness (which probably, though. It Is), yet your di gestion Is nearly certain to be out of order, and If allowed to remain so will seriously complicate your slekneaa for you. Ptusrt's Dyepepsla Tablet*, then, will be sure to do you good, and will not Interfere with any other medi cine you may be taking. They will help to make your food make you strong, and thura.
