Morris—lint for the Corporation*
He Could Not Have Been Elected.
George Say* There I* Mach Truth
in Wliat Osborne Soya.
Atlanta, Dec. 27.—Hon. Emerson
George of Morgan county, who was a
candidate for speaker of the last House
in opposition to Speaker N. A. Morris,
gave out an interview to-day in which
he criticises the reply of Mr. Morris
to Mr. Osborne as injudicious. He
practically commends Mr. Osborne's
course In seeking to reform the Demo
cratic party within party lines.
A great many of the votes for Mr.
Morris were due to personal friend
ship, Mr. George says, but he as
serts that In his opinion, Mr. Morris
could not have been elected without
the influQtee of the corporations. But
for the most earnest and bitter fight
made by the corporations against
Fondren Mitchell, Mr. George asserts,
Mitchell would have been elected. Mr.
George says the corporations did not
fight him because they were too busy
fighting Mitchell; but that they would
have fought him if Mitchell had been
out of the wav.
Mr. George says there is much truth
in what Mr. Osborne states, and the
objectionable features should be elimi
nated from the party. He concludes
by declaring himself for Murphey
Candler of DeKalb for President of the
next Senate.

ing dormant in the state treasury since
1896, was paid out this morning. It

ment of outstanding bonds and In

the time of the appropriation it was

however, waiting for the bonds to
show up. To-day they were sent to
the state treasury by D. .T. Tate of 66
Broadway. New York. There were
three of these bonds for *I,OOO each,

No one who contemplates Life Insurance, or even these who feel
