Rain and sunshine—sunshine and rain alternate, al most every hour. At all events, we are having plenty of rain to answer the de mand of the seaaon, and In some localities It is feared much damage lias been done to the cotton crop. Ths Cobcert.—We luvlte special atten tion to th« announcement of a Qnad 0pe lts vis* ratke Concert, to he given at Iisvis* Ball, in this city, on Friday evening next, for the benefit of the Young Ben’s Library Association, b would be auperfitfoqp to urge the claims of the proposed beneficia ries; but we can assure onr readers that an entertainment Is in oeuvne of prepara tion. by the best amateurs of the city, that will be enjoyed outside of the feeling that a worthy enterprise Is being advanced. A full house should greet our local talent and sustain the laudable object of the Library Association. Disinterred,—Yesterday the remains of a Federal Captain, (wc did not learn his name.) who Was buried on the lot formerly occupied by the Atlanta Hotel, while Gen. 8herman occupied the «lty, was disinterred fur the purpose of re moving it to tiie National Cemetery at Marietta. Sal* or ijquoRs.—We call Httontion to the noticeofCollcctor Atkina, of the sale of Bonded Liquors, which will ocour to-day, at the warehoaiscs of Cox & Hill, and Geo. Sharp. The sale will commence at the warehouse of Mr. Sharp, on Peachtree street, at 11 o’clock, a. m„ and will be con tinued until both the lists are disposed of. Dcrlers will do well to be in attendance. A Row.—The classic shades of Sherman- town last Monday night, were made the scene of a huge row between a party of the “Boys in Blue,” and the ebony deni tens thereof. Madam Rumor has it that the houses of colored citizens were entered by force, and, in many instances, an indlscrim inate onslaught made upon the occupants, knocking down and unmercifully beating some of the males, and treating some fe males In an Insulting and ungentlemanly manner. Hatchets, rocks, pistols, and cudgels were brought to bear in the con flict. No lives were lost, but We learn that a few noses were smashed, eyes bunged, and one or two heads, if not broke, were considerably bruised. We understand that a party of colored men, accompanied by Lieutenant Murphy, of the city police, went to camp yesterday, and two of the raiding party were identified, arrested, brought to the city, and turned over to the military authorities. United States District Cocbt.—Court met yesterday morning pursuant to ad journment, his Honor, Judge ErskIne, pre siding. The attendance upon Court was large, and we noticed many distinguished meuibes8 of the bar of the State were pres ent.
