its claim at Atlanta on the first one of the disabilities referred to, and when spoken to about the others, says that it is not fair to count them. Oh, no, why, of course, not. But the W. & A. and Central Bailroads, and the railroads which labor under the other kinds of disabilities referred to, take issue with them, and will press the issue Just as far as the E, T., U. A G. Ry. Co. presses that of Union Depot terminals at Atlanta. In other words, a “disability” is that which causes one line to lose passen gers by reason of the fact that the oth er is better fixed up in one way or an other than it is for securing them. Herein lies the basis for the whole argument, and the absurdity of the matter can be fully demonstrated when we take up, in your next number, the question as to whether railroad men in this section will consider that one line has a right or the power to select one kind of disability which it labors under and claim a differential for the purpose of neutralizing it, and yet, pooh pooh ! the question of allowing differ entials to its competitors who labor un der disadvantages as against it in other respects. T., 1 . A G. Ry. Co. does not want. Only via the W estern and Atlantic Railroad, and the Rome Railroad, from Kingston, can you go to Rome, down the beautiful valley of the Etowah I river. This is. one of the prettiest ' valleys in Georgia, and the lands are among the most fertile of any in the South. The Rome Railroad runs in sight of the Etowah river for probably over half its length, and passengers who desire to go to Rome will miss a treat if they take any other route than that via Kingston and the Rome Rail road, —the “Riverside Route.” The scenery on the Western & At lantic, at historic Mill Creek Gap, and along Rocky Eace Ridge, is unexcelled ’ in beauty.
