from his recent connection with the Boys
High school. He Is a son of Rev. .1 M.
Brittain, pastor of th" Baptist church at
Barnesville, Gu., and bls mother was Miss
Ida Gallaway, of Wilkes county, a member
of tlo famous Callaway family, which
has extensive connections, not only in
Georgia, but throughout the south. Mr.
Brittain marrh-d the daughter of Bev.
Henry MeConald, pastor of the Second
Baptist ciiurch, and has two children.

county.
At 6:30 Thursday night Edward Flana
gan, a machinist and former agent
of the Standard Oil Company, who board
ed with the family of George W. Allen, at
Poplar Springs, four miles from Atlanta,
attempted tlio extermination of the whole
family.
Desperate with drink, fined to insane

the heart of Mrs. Dixon E. Allen, the |
grandmother, seventy years old; placed

a beautiful young lady from White Plains,

W. Allen, inflicting a fatal wound; bat
tered f’lo head of the grandfather, Dixon

oldest child.

with the murlerer, and after a hand to
