Mulholland was interned after the rebellion of 1916. The shooting of Mulholland has created a considerable sensation as it is the first event of the kind that has been reported so near the Ul ster border. TIRED,.BODY m soul? Not Sick, But Still Not Your self. Think You’ll Be Bet ter Tomorrow —Only You’re Not TRY TAKING PEPTO-MAN GAN It Isn’t Sleep You Need, But a Good Tonic—More Red Blood Everyone gets run down occasion ally. Sometimes it’s weeks before you get your energy, enthusiasm and happiness back again. Any doctor will tell you to be careful in a time like this. Your body has little power of resistance, and the danger of catching some serious disease is great. Temporar ily, your blood has too few “fight ing” corpuscles. It’s the work of these same red corpuscles to keep you free from fa tigue. Being constantly tired out — depressed in body and mind< —is al most a sure sign that your blood needs help for a time. Gude's Pepto-Mangan is a standard remedy in cases of anemia (or bloodlessness). It supplies the iron and other properties your blobd needs to catch up with its task of keeping you fresh and alert in every fibre. Pepto-Mangan has the hearty en dorsement of physicians, is an agree able tonic to take, and may be had at any drug store in either liquid or tablet form. Both have same medi cinal value. Be sure to ask for Gude’s. There is only one genuine Pepto-Mangan, and the name “Gude’s” should be on the package.—(Advt.) I k I j I rft) vl THINK of the strong, healthy SneH ah’d yvometi you know people who are prominent and who are doing things worth while and you will find that they usually possess remarkable force, vim and energy —the kind that simply brim over when the blood is filled with iron. Iron is red-blood food-r-it helps put strength and energy into the veins of men and roses into the cheeks of women. Nuxated Iron by enriching the blood and creating new blood cells strengthens the nerves, rebuilds the weakened tissues and helps to instill renewed energy and endurance into the whole system. If people would only keep their blood filled with strength-giving iron by taking Nuxated Iron when they feel weak, run-down and nervous, they might readily build up their red-blood corpuscles and cuickly become stronger and healthier in every way. Unlike the older inorganic products it is easily assimilated, does not injure the teeth, make them black nor upset the stomach. Nuxated Iron often increases the strength and endurance of weak, delicate people in two weeks’ time. It is dispensed by all good druggists. N. Wall. Mr. Wall is one of the best citizens in the county of Elbert, a minister of the gospel, ex-school commissioner of the county and well read and well posted. I am an old newspaper man and think the way the Constitution is treating Senator Smith is an out rage on Democracy. I, of course, am sending this! article for you to use and don’t care for any publicity on my part. It was published in the El bert County Times and paid for by Mr. Wall himself. Smith will carry Elbert county by a safe majority, I think and hope. I know him personally and think a great deal of him and don’t believe he would be a party to a crooked deal, the Constitution to the contrary not withstanding. Respectfully, W. C. NORRELL. Elberton, Ga. The card referred to by Mr. Nor rell follows: “Mr. Editor: Let me say this: Turkey, with her Mohammedan re ligion, which has been slaughtering Christians by the thousands for over one hundred years, can get up a war over her territorial lines and thus have opened to her our treasury vaults, and then call our mothers’ sons and husbands to fight her bat ties. • “Furthermore: Liberia and Hayti (from a reputable publication now under my eye) will have four negro members each on the board ol tne League of Nations, as well as the abominable Turks, to help determine all questions of war, but our United States senate cannot say a word. CIHTM.OFSHUUH ■ IS IN HANDS OF SOW TROOPS NOGALES, Sonora, April 17. —(By the Associated Press.) —Gen. Angel Flores, with 5,000 Sonora troops, captured Culiacan, capital of the ad joining state of Sinaloa, this morn ing, according to official announce ment from Sonora military headquar ters at Hormosillo. The Sonora revolutionists proceed ed immediately to march on Mazat lan, an important port on the Sinaloa coast. After occupying Mazatlan, it was announced, the Sonora troops will march on the state of Nayarit, with Tepic, the capital, as the ob jective. Large numbers of troops for the revolutionary movement against the Carranza government were expected to be obtained in Nayarit. Hundreds of former Carranza sol diers have joined General Flores since he invaded Sinaloa last Tues day, it was said. The telegram said Carranza forces joining the revolutionists brought with them full equipment including arms, ammunition and food supplies. The Sonora forces when they enter ed Sinaloa were said then to num ber less than 2,500 men. Five hundred soldiers were sent from here today under Colonel Jesus Aguirre to reinforce the garrison at Agua Prieta and other troops are concentrating there to prevent any invasion of the state in that direc tion by Carranza forces. It was stated that 1,500 troops were sent from Hermosillo today under Gen eral Manzo to reinforce General Flores. Private telegram from Hermosillo said word had been received there from Mexico that General Pablo Gonzales; a candidate for the presi dency of Mexico, had inaugurated a movement to remove President Car ran.-a and put in hos place a provi sional president who would guarantee fair elections in July. The move ment, it was said, has been indorsed by northern Mexican states. Leaders here said that if Carranza was removed the Sonora movement would cease immediately. The troops will be sent to other points of expected attack should the Sonora officials get confirmation of the report the United States will not allow Carranza troops to cross Ameri can territory to attack Sonora, Gen eral Pina said. Military leaders said the presence of Yaquis demonstrated that the In dians had made peace with the state government and would assist it in its fight against Carranza. Hundreds of the Indians already have enlisted un der the Sonora government. Francisco Villa has offered his as sistance to the Sonora government, it was reported here, and has asked for delivery to him of ammunition and machine guns to wage an active cam paign against Carranza in the state of Chihuahua. Military officials would not say whether Villa’s offer had been accepted. The Carranza garrison at Culiacan was defeated by the Sonora troops and many Carranza soldiers made prisoner, General Pina said. The Car ranza garrrison was reported to num ber 3.500 men. Culiacan is about 175 miles south of. the Sinaloa-Sonora boundary. SIMMONS IS NO BLIND FOLLOWER OF THE PRESIDENT Hoke Smith headquarters Saturday afternoon issued the following state ment: ’ “The Atlanta Constitution declares, in effect, that Senator Simmons, who has been indorsed by the Democracy of North Carolina, deserves the sup port of his native state for the veryi reasons that Senator Hoke Smith should be condemned by the people of Georgia. “The Atlanta Constitution dwells upon Senator Simmons’ fidelity to President Wilson and the League of Nations. “Senator Simmons and Senator Smith were in the same boat with respect to the League of Nations. In commending the indorsement of the North Carolinian, the Atlanta Con stitution indorses the position of the Georgian. “Does not the editor of the Atlanta Constitution know that months ago Senator Simmons acknowledged that reservations to the peace treaty were essential, and that its ratification was impossible without them? “Does not the editor of the Atlanta Constitution know that Senator Sim mons himself proposed in the senate two reservations to Article Ten, which were defeated? “Does not the editor of the Atlanta Constitution know that Senator Hitchcock, the administration floor leader, sought to arrange a confer ence between the president and Sen ator Simmons concerning reserva tions which Senator Simmons’ states manship and experience prompted him to urge? A , “Does not the editor of the Atlanta Constitution know that the president refused to see or confer with Senator Simmons about reservations to Ar ticle Ten? “Does not the editor of the Atlanta Constitution know that Senator Sim mons was a member of the bi-parti san conference committee which pro posed several changes in the treaty and which were defeated because of the president’s opposition? “One would suppose from reading the Constitution’s indorsement of Senator Simmons that he was a blind, devoted follower of the president, when the facts are that the positions of Senator Simmons and Senator Hoke Smith were similar in many re spects. “It is evident that the Atlanta Con stitution is no better informed about the record of Senator Simmons than it is about the sinking of the Lusi tania, which, according to the Con stitution, was submarined en route from Europe to the United States, loaded with wounded soldiers. “The Democrats of North Caro lina, through the press of the state and in their state convention, have indorsed the position of Senator Sim mons respecting the League of Na tions and his well-known attitude of •difference with the unyielding posi tion of the president. “It is apparent to us that the peo ple of Georgia, in the primaries next Tuesday, will follow North Carolina’s lead and Indorse in no uncertain meas ure the sound and patriotic stand of Senator Hoke Smith on the League of Nations.” Two Balloons Leave On Endurance Test ROCKAWAY, N. Czechoslovak Cotton Deal Virtually Made Negotiations for the sale to Euro pean mills of 300,000 bales of cotton for the members of the American Cotton association have practically been completed, according to tele graphic advices received by J. S. Wannamaker, president of the or ganization. Mr. Wannamaker on Sat urday notified the headquarters of the Georgia divsion that a repre sentative of the association sailed on Friday for Czecho-Slovakia to consummate the deal. Several weeks ago options were se cured from association members for 300,000 bales of cotton to be sold direct to European mills and finan cial arrangements for the transac tion have already been perfected. Pinkham’s Vegetable Com pound. I started it immediately and I felt better and could eat better after the first bottle, and I continued taking it for some time. Last year I gave birth to a baby boy and had a much easier time as I took the Vegetable Compoundfor four monthsbefore baby came. On getting up I had no pains like I had before, and no dizziness, and in two weeks felt about as well as ever.” —Mrs. Thomas Wilkinson, 363 Colum bia Street, Fall Eiver, Mass. Why? Because the unfortunate ones had neglected themselves or had been merely taking care of the sign (swelling) of the affliction and paying no attention to the cause. What are you doing? Are you neglecting yourself by wearing a truss, ap pliance, or whatever name you choose to call it? At best, the truss is only a makeshift, a false prop against a collapsing wall—and cannot be expected to act ns more than a mere mechanical support. The binding pres sure retards blood circulation, thus robbing the weakened muscles of that which they need most —nourishment. But science has found away, and every truss sufferer in the land is invited, to make a FREE test right in the privacy of their own home. The PLAPAO method is un questionably the most scientific, logical and successful self-treatment for rupture the world has ever known. The PLAPAO Pad, when adhering closely to the body, cannot possibly slip or shift out of place, therefore cannot chafe or pinch. Soft as velvet—easy to apply—inex pensive. To be used whilst you work and whilst yon sleep. No straps, buckles or springs attached. I earn how to close the hernial opening as nature intended, so the rupture CAN’T come down.
