Major Wilkins waa born C.»» to bur fl,

ber of the class of 1868 ortho Univer
sity of Georgia and afterward* com
pleted hi* education In the class of
1858 of Harvard University.
He was for a time a law student In
the office of General Thomas H. It.
Cobb.
He organized the first bank of
Waynesboro and was for a l«*ng time
Its president and principal stockholder.
For the last ten or twelve year* he
had retired from active business and
