The annual meeting of the directors
of the Empire Stale Investment Com
pany waa held at their ofTIce Thursday
and tho secretary’s report showed net
earnings, over and above all expense*,
for the taat alx months of 180,418.72
on Ita capital stock of 1160,000. A
semi-annual dividend of ten per cent,
was declared, and 116,481.72 was car
ried to the surplus account.
Tho annual meeting of the stock
holders waa then called, and the fol
lowing directors were unanimously
elected for another year: J. B. Mad
dox. Peter F. Clark, D. J. Kay, R. M.
Clay, John T. Moody, C. G. Hi. Amund,
