side drive, In honor of Mrs. Hurry
Wallersteln, a prominent society and
club woman of New York and president
of the Aubensteln Club, of that city.
The table decorations were In violets,
the favorite Dower of Ihe honor guest,
nnd the Violet mollf waa carried out
In all the beautiful details of the af
fair, and also In the elegant and elab
orate menu served.
Covers were laid for sixteen nt a
large round table, and each place wns
■narked with carnage bouquets of Par-
mu violate, with tiny electric bulbs ar
ranged underneath these, and the othhr
decorations of violets to throw Into re
lief the exquisite color, a large number
of lights being thus used on the flat
surface of the table.
A .delicate tracery nf smllux was
use,! with the violets to give the touch
nt green, and thr favors were boxes of
perfumed artificial violets, Ailed with
crystallised violets, and the lees nnd
cukes on tha elaborate menu which
woe furnished by Sherry were In the
form end color of violets also.

coursed In the drawing room near, while
the luncheon was In progress, and guy.
