Hutcheson, the former news paper man. now connected with the le gal department of the Louisville and Naahvllla railroad, hail a narrow et- cape, and Preston Jackson, a laundry- man, was severely wounded early Bun. day morning In Durand's depot restau rant, as the result of the accidental discharge of a 44-callber Colls revolver. The owner of the pistol, anothsr young man. was handlag It across the counter to a clerk, when It fail to the floor and was discharged. Hutcheson and Jackson had just started out of the restaurant at the time of the acci dent. The bullet went through Hutche son's trousers and grased the skin near the htp, then went entirely through Jackson's left hand and, ranging up ward, struck him on the left side of the head. The skull la thought to haVe been fractured, although his condition Is not considered serious. He was removed to hla home In a cab. The shooting cre ated considerable excitement, as i number of people ware In the restau rant at the Urns. ST.
