The first waak In April will mark tha
beginning of a groat revival In tha.
Methodist churches of tha Atlanta dis
trict, many of th*«aatore already Hav
ing announced their Intentions In ac
cordance with a general underataaSIns
which develop#)! at 'the meeting of
Methodist ministers several weeks ago.
Religious meetings, prayer, devotion
al eaerdaee and Individual work lead
ing ap to this general revival In Atlanta
haa been going on for several weeks
among the Methodist ministers. No set
rule haa bean adopted, and each minis
ter will conduct his meetings In his own
Individual way.
Announcements were made Monday
morning at tha meeting of Methodist
ministers by Rava. C. C. Jarrell. H. c.
Christies, ft. A. Relk, W. F. Hamby
and others that their meetings would
begin as scheduled. Several of the
ministers will be asalated by evangel
tele, while other* will conduct their
meetings alone or aaslsted by their lay
men.
'There are a number of churches In
Atlanta." said Presiding Elder James
E. Eakes, "which haven't the slightest
Idea that they are In need of a revival.
They seem to think that If they have a
respectable steed congregation at 11
o'clock and pay all the haaeasmenta
levied against tha church they have
done about all that la saperted of them.
We need a general revival and 1 be
lieve It le coming."
THE THEATERS
"The Man an the Bea.”
The secret of the tremendous success
of 'The Man on the Boa," In which
Mas Flgman and hla company will ap
pear at the Grand Monday and Tues
day nights and Tuesday matinee. Is
great heart Interest. It Is a comedy,
true, but also reveals a little romance
■ hat reaches deep Into the hearts of the
sudlencr and arouses a lasting bond of
sympathy. The laughter Is frequent,
genuine and spontaneous, but there Is
always something bark of It, and when
the auditor leaves the theater he'a sl
ays "glad It ended that way." be
cause "he was a fine fellow, don't you
know." and ”1 never would have been
ronlented If that Russian Had married
the girl." "But don't lie have his
nerve, though? ( never could have done
It."
~A Message From Mare.”
Richard Ganthony'a famous comedy.
A Message From Mara.” will be pre
sented at the Bllou all this week, which
will be the first lime this play has ever
been seen In this city at popular prices.
Bo much can be said In behalf of this
comedy that It would require no little
spare with which to tell of the good
Impression It has made In cities where
as been placed on view. It comes
here with, the atamp at approval In
quite a number of cities where It has
had long and successful runs. It had
Its bringing out In London, and there
It pleased the English theatergoers for
n period of three yean, and all this
time at one theater In the British me
tropolla.

“The Marriage af Kitty.”
The sale of seats for the "Marriage
of Kitty" la going forward with a rush,
and there Is every Indication that both
the special bargain matinee and the'
performance at night on March 25 will
be the most successful In point of at
tendance In the history of the Orand.
Both Mr. Singleton and Mr. Richards,
Marcella Sembrieh.
Pain and pleaaure have been curious,
ly mingled tn the life of Marcella Hem-
brlch. The woman whom we now rec
ognise as the successor of Patti, the
"coloratura queen,” has known pover
ty. want, hunger and sorrow, without
which no artist can be truly and com
pletely great. In her girlhood, when,
as Marcella Knkhansy. she had already
com* to be known In her Galician
birthplace as an accomplished violin
ist. she was forced to play dance music
for her living. Boon she became a fa
miliar figure at all local merrymakings.
