Hospital Wednesday night.

TO CATCH THIEF
While Special Officer Wright, of the
Southern railroad, lay accreted In
freight ’car near Ponce DeLeon park
late Tuesday afternoon Lonnie Wallace,
17 yeirs of age. who resides near the
park, entered the car and was In ths
act of stealing a caddy of tobacco, when
suddenly confronted by the officer.
Wright promptly covered the youth
with his revolver and took him Into
custody.
Obey Sparks, 13 years of age. who
said to have been standing un the out-
■ide watching for his confederate, fled
from the scene at thla unexpected turn
of affairs. He was later arrested, how
ever, and le also held at the police sta
tion.

tain met In mass meeting Tuesday to
discuss the school bond question. It
was an enthusiastic meeting. The peo
ple here are almost unanimous In favor
of Issuing school bonds to erect a mod
ern school house.
The board of education has recom
mended .to the council that the election
for bonds be ordered, which the mayor

Tuesday afternoon In the Manhattan
Cafe In the Bijou theater block. Sev

Marietta. Ga, April 11.—Samuel Erie,
a prominent cltlxen of Marietta, died
at his residence, on Whitlock avenue,
yesterday afternoon. Mr. Erie waa 65
years old and unmarried. He was a
great student and was probably the
best Informed man In this section.
The funeral services will be held to
day from the Episcopalian church.
