Griffin. Ga.. April 15.—C. E. McKIb-
ben, who for the past few years has
held the position of baggage agent at
the union passenger station In this
city', has been succeeded by John M.
Mathews, who was promoted from tele,
graph operator at the yard office.
Dredge at Work at Port.
Brunswick. Ga., April 15,—The l»lg
suction dredge Atlantic came In port
Saturday and today commences the
work of dredging In the river Sit the
site of the Brunswick Steamship Com
pany’s big timber basin. The dredge
will remain here until her contract Is
completed, which will probably be In
about sixty to ninety days.
FAIR COMMITTEE
TO COMPLETE PLANS
Within a few days a meeting of the
executive committee of the State Ag
ricultural Society will be held and
then plans will be made for the coming
state fair In Atlanta next fall.
With the contribution by the Georgia
Hallway and Electric Company of

worth of debts, Secretary Weldon la
able to announce that the fair Is as
sured, and a meeting of the Agricul
ture! Society executive committee will
be called and the matter closed.
