THE ATLANTA GEORGIAN AND NEWS. WEDNESDAY, APHID 17, 13JT. 7 Clothes That Satisfy The better clothing judge you are, the more you’ll appreciate these Rogers, Peet & Co. and Hart, Schaffner & Marx clothes. The more carefully and critically you examine them the more thoroughly you’ll be convinced of their faultless quality. You can’t get better clothing, no matter how much you pay; you’ll be asked to pay our prices elsewhere for ordinary clothing, with no character in it or reputation behind it. Atlanta men are appreciating these facts more widely every day; and our business is grow ing by leaps and bounds; our doubled space will soon be inadequate. Come in tomorrow and choose a new Spring Suit: pay $15 or $40 or any price between-—you’ll get more for your money than you ever got before. AU.nl., Georgia Transfer May Mean New Outlet for Atlanta Com merce to the Sea. Special to The Georgian. Broxton. Go.. April 17.—Sunday night nt midnight the Ocllla and Valdostn railroad from Fltxgerald to Broxton be gan existence under new ownerahlp and management, H. C. McFadden. who re- signed last week as general passenger agent of the Atlanta, Birmingham and Atlantic system, representing the new ownership in the capacity of general superintendent, the road having become the property of the Broxton, Haile- hurst and Savannah railroad. Mr, Mc Fadden la one of the foremoat men In railroad circles of the South. The Atlanta, Birmingham and At lantic system owns valuable terminals In Savannah. These were bought about two years ago. This Include, what la said to be the most desirable wharfage In Savannah. These facte, connected with the purchaee of thla line, confirms the prevailing opinion that the Atlanta, Birmingham and Atlantic will build Into Savannah, thus giving Atla'nta n now outlet to deep water and opening up the broadest section of South Oeor* gla ns yet not penetrated by railroads. It any extension Is made the road will probably be through Baxley, Glen- viUe and Hlnesvllle. The sale of the line from Broxton to Haalehurst to the Georgia and Florida railway some months ago, precludes the possibility of It being built to Haalehurst. For that rrason It la aeml-ofllclally announced that a new charter will be applied for at once. The management at present Is operating under the old charter of the Broxton. Haalehurst and Savannah railroad. GET LOWER RATES Washington, April 17.—The Interstate commerce- commission today. In adjacent territory were unjust and unreasonable, and compart- son was made with rates from the same shipping points to Cordele and Fits- gerald. Go. Pending a hearing In this cafe, a conference was had between the com- plalnanta and representatives of the carriers and a readjustment of such rates satisfactory to the complaljianta was agreed upon. Permission wee granted by the com mission to the carriers to make auch ratea .effective on three days' notice, and In accordance therewith tariffs naming the new rates have been fllej.
