The little girl was taken 111 Sunday with measles and! this was followed Tuesday by an attack of meningitis. CONVICT KILLED TRYING TO ESCAPE FROM STOCKADE Special to The Georgian. Raleigh. N. C., April 17.—Three young convicts, C. L. Scruggs, Jack Williams and Dodd Wilton, all white, made nn attempt to escape from the state prison today shortly before noon. They pried a board from the stockade and succeeded In getting into the open before the guard saw them. At the drat shot Scruggs fell shot through the body and died Instantly.
