The reception given In honor of Rev.
and Mrs. Sims by the ladles of the First
Presbyterian church last Friday night
was a beautiful and elaborate nffalr.
The home of Mr. G. W. Hamilton, on
Thornton avenue, was charmingly ar
ranged for the entertainment. Over
two hundred guests were present. De
lightful music was rendered by Rout's
orchestra, and delicious refreshments
were served. The parlor was decorated
with white lilies and ferns, while In
the hall were palms, and the library
and dining room Were radiant with pink
roses and candles; the coffee room
showed garlands of dogwood blossoms.
Monday night Miss Floy Felker, of
Monroe, was honored with a delightful
dance at Hotel Dalton.
Rev. W. L. Llngte, of Atlanta, was In
Dalton, the guest of Mr. Lynn Denton,
recently.
The wedding of Miss Virginia Mc
Daniel and Mr. Charles Glover, of At
