Stone Mountain, Ga.. May 6.—The
U, 8. B. team defeated the Boys' High
School team here Saturday by the score
of 8 to 1. Klein and Goldsmith gave
up seven hits each, having eight and
live strike outs, respectively. The game
was a ''rattling'' good one, and was
played In the fast time of 1 hour and
10 minutes.

the "champions" of Wilkes county,
went down In defeat before Union
Point star team at Daniel Springs Sat
urday by the score of 11 to 3. It tyas
snnual picnic day, and a large crowd
to present to cheer both teams.
Durham, the uouthpaw, was aguln In
rare form and Tignall could not hit
him. Wooten and Colley, for Tignall,
were rapped hard by the hard-hitting
Union Pointers. The work of the Over,
ton brothers and Hollis was spectacu
lar at times,

her match In Union Point, this being
their first defeat of the leason. The

Loucks, with Arthur Long, left Sun
day morning for Jacksonville, where
they go to Join the local team Monday
for the series of games with the Scouts.
Loucks Is booked to pitch the opening
game and victory should fall this way,
for Loucks eeya that luck has again
fallen In his path. He says that his
arm Is In better shape than at any
ffirae during the season, and he la In
good condition to play the best game of
his career. Pitcher John Quinn, who
has been playing such good ball for
Macon, has returned, owing to his in
ability to work on account of his sore
arm. which has never quite recovered
from his work agalqft Jacksonville last
week. He Is trying to get his arm In
good shape, and may go to his home In
Pittsburg In order that he may accom
plish this.

feated Bartow here Friday In a hard-
fought game. The acore was t to 2.
Except for a beautiful catch by Flynt
and the pitching of Tarver, both of
Louisville, the game was devoid of fea
ture*. Tarver pitched a magnificent
game, striking out 10 men and allowing
only 3 hits. Murphy for Bartow also
pitched a good game. He struck out I
men and gave up 7 hits.
