The Atlanta Fair Association has
been granted the usa of Piedmont Park
and nil the buildings thereon for the
holding of the state fair next year.
The park board took this action at a
meeting Tuesday afternoon. President
H. H. Cabnnlss and Secretary Frank
Weldon, ot th* fair association, asked
that the old machinery building not be
torn down, as waa proposed, until after
the next fair, os It would be needed for
a Uve stock building. Tha request was
granted.

FOR GREENVILLE SHOPS.

Greenville, 8. C.. May 8.—The South
ern railway ha* made a contract with
the J. F. Qalllvan Construction Com
pany for the building of machine shops
at this point. The shops will Le
equipped with tatest designs in machin
ery for repairing of locomotives and
building of care. Local officials of the
road say that th* necessity for shops
at this point ha* become more pro
nounced of late, owing to the heavy
traffic over the road. The contract call*
for the completion of tbe shops b«fon
fall.
