reached here that E. A. Sands, of this
place, was accidentally, shot and killed
at Jesup. Mr. Sands was one of the
most popular young men of this sec
tion. He had recently returned home
from Atlanta, where he. had been tak
ing a course In dentistry and would
have llnlshod his course next May. Mr.
Sands' body was brought hero from
Jesup for Interment. *

IN SAN FRANCISCO
San Francisco. May 13.—Fifty street
cars were operated’yesterday over two
of the twenty-odd lines composing the
United Railways system. For the first
time since the commencement of the
etrlke last Sunday cars were run to the

Haskell, Ark., May 13.—Fast pas
senger train on the Rock Island road,
between Memphis, Little Rock and Hot
Springs, was wrecked two miles north
east of here at 8 o'clock yesterday
afternoon, due. It Is said, to spreading
rails.
No one wea killed, but the following
were Injured:
W. S. Britt, exprese messenger and
baggageman. Little Rock; left leg frac
tured and body badly brutaed.
Mrs. Bertha Kellton, Little Rock,
seriously Injured.
Engineer B. M. Webster, Argentine,
Ark., shoulder dislocated.
Fireman W. P. Surrett, Argentina,
Ark., ankle dislocated and badly
bruised.
The engine, tender, baggage car and
two coaches turned over.
