Bucket Shop Indictments
To Be Tried in June
Next.
Following the appellate court affir
mation of the conviction ofO. N. An
derson for violation of the Boykin anti
bucket ahop act. Solicitor Charles D.
HIM has Issued Instructions to have the
Other nine cases pending placed on the
calendar for June.
The nine Indicted at the same time
" as Mr. Anderson were: Albert Curran.
Holland Curran. John Curran, -Ous
. Eecher. Harry Anderson. Louis Hulfa-
her, Edward Whittlesey. Daniel Danne
. and T. M. Hamilton, Sr. These cases
j were held up on an agreement that a
1 test would be mads of the one case.
The parties all agreed to refrain from
' engaging In the business In the state
pending final adjudication.
As stated In The Georgian, no const!
tutlonal Issue was raised or passed
upon In the appellate court, but the
decision Is a sharp warning that any
efforts to break either the spirit or the
letter of the Boykin act by subterfuge
/ will not be tolerated,
i When the Boykin act went Into ef-
, feet January 1. 1(07, .Mr. Anderson and
: others opened up establishments under
I the name of exchanges. Mr. Ander
I son's place was known as the Commer
1 dal Exchange, and only members were
| allowed In the exchange. Membership
. dues were fixed at (1 per month, and
I -Mr. Anderson had It to (0 regular pat.
, gone.
This room was equipped with the
board, leased wires and all the appur-
! tenances of a regular exchange or
.bucket shop. Quotations were received
! here, but It was established that no
' money was wagered or received In
[ this main room. But Mr. Anderson had
I fitted up nearby another room, which
f had no direct connection with the ex-
| Change. Here, It was testified, he re-
I celved orders and placed money for
I customers, and by this method the act
was evaded. It was pointed out that a
I maximum membership of 10 at 11 a
I month would not pay for the expensive
I quarters, much lesa the (11.600 per an-
1 num for the leased wire,.the operators
' and other necessary expenses.

A Coffee Fact!!
Many Highly Organized People
Are Definitely and Distinctly
Diseased by Coffee
Not with all people, but many, particularly those
highly organized—brain workers and their kind—the alka
loid—caffeine—contained in ordinary coffee, has a direct
action ypon the delicate nerves of the stomach, and by a
pathological law the nervous system is graduiflly and surety
affected.
The result will show in a variety of ways, such as head
aches and bowel or kidney trouble in some people; in others
smothering sensations about the heart, dyspepsia, etc., and
in many the power of the brain is impaired.
Different people will be affected differently, but com
mon sense should teach that if you have any disease or
symptoms of disease you should endeavor to locate the
source and cause.
It’s useless to take medicine and at the same time con
tinue the use of some injurious article of food or drink that
not only caused the disease but continues it from day to day.
Leaving off coffee takes away the cause and the natu
ral food elementa obtained by long boiling of

go constantly to replenish and rebuild the delicate gray mat
ter in the nerve centers throughout the body.
Mental poise and stnrdy physical health can be turned
into, wealth, fame and happiness. '
