According to the report of County
School Commissioner M. L. Brittain
for the year 1S07, which has Just been
made public, the schools of Fulton
county are In better condition at the
present time than they have been at
any time In the history of the county.
, . . , , n In his efforts to secure longer term*
l Ul'k, nOW being beautified and better school facilities. Professor
, . Brittain states that the people havo
by tile Citv, IS Within three responded better, Iierhaps, than could
- have been expected, and uses aa an Il
lustration the fact that three commu-1
allies, remote from the city, with less
than 100 children altogether, have built
three two-room school houses, costing
$3,000, to take the places of threa one-
room atructurea costing perhaps $100
each.
The report shows that within the last
twatve months, using only about $6,000
of the county's funds, $16,000 has been
raised and expended for new buildings
and school Improvemnts. Every school
for white children Is now painted and
supplied with modern desks. .
An Interesting feature of the report la
the statement that dosens of families
