a bond given for tho Atlanta Fireproof,

of the work on a new court house In
Baker county, the county commission

of the work, 51,510 forfeit money and
*1,400 attorney's fees.

contract for building the court house
was made with the Atlanta Fireproof
ing Company In May, 1*00, the work to
be completed by December 24, 1*05. In
November, 1*05, It la alleged, the com
pany went Into bankruptcy with the
work only partially completed.
When called upon to make good the
bond of *50,000, given to Insure the
faithful performance of the contract,
the Aetna Indemnity Company, It la
alleged, refuaed to do ao. >

was postmarked Columbua, but the re
cipient believes It waa placed In the
mails by a woman living In another
city.

on railroad property and hearing com
plaints against the roads. A committee
of the Chamber of Commerce appears

trains for Chattanooga. It la claimed
that the city loses much trade on ac
count of the lock of accommodation

Savannah, Ga., May 10.—'W. B. Pres-
son, a victim of the Tattnall county I
ambuscade, died here yesterday. Mr. I
Presson leaves a wife and a number of
relatives.
This makes the sixth victim of the |
