Parties to Captain Manlgault's famous rose gardens across the river have also formed many pleasant outings during the past few weeks. Mrs. Ralph Elliott, of Los Angeles, Csl.. formerly of Savannah, has an nounced the engagement of her daugh ter, Harriet King, to Mr. John Brown- low van Ess, of Chicago, the wedding to be a quiet event of November 14. Miss Elliott has spent most of her life here and Is very closely Identified with the social life of the city.
